I want to upgrade to a new i5 2500k. Would I notice a speed difference in running windows applications? Or is it strictly for gaming? All I do is surf, and basic use. No video encoding or anything.
if its a game that he would notice a playable difference in then that difference would be felt at any resolution. in other words a game like GTA 4 or Ghostbusters would have a massive increase in playability no matter the resolution. the lower resolutions would only indicate how much of his cards potential was being wasted. Its relative to the resolution you use. 1920x1200 and above you wont notice much difference. 1280x1024 the difference will be significant.
