if its not prime stable, its worth nothing. its just a clock frequency show off.

if you were to hire someone to work for you, would you want the person to be reliable or unreliable? same concept applies to computers.

for example, I play games to relieve tension, if my computer crashes when I am playing, good grief you better be at least 100 ft from me.

yea im surprised they didnt run any type of orthos or prime95 to test it for errors. not that amazing if it isn't stable.

I'd like to see them do useful things with it. SuperPi means very little. It's probably sitting outside in a blizzard. :)

im assuming u mean physical beating, like blunt-trauma beating?? im pretty sure the only trauma cpus get are heat related, which is nullified with the dry ice, no?

anyone think these cpus at these clocks would go long-term 24/7 if they were constantly supplied the ice ?

Of course it isn't stable, thats not the point at all, the point is setting benchmark records, not having a computer to run 24/7, being stable enough to run SuperPi is more than you can say about alot of their runs.

You guys are missing the point of the benchmarking. For those who like motorsports, is a Top Fuel dragster pointless? There is no way that a Top Fuel engine would live in a daily driver but it's sure a kick in the head to see it move a dragster down the 1/4 mile in 4.5 seconds. It's the benchmark accomplishment that's cool, not the everyday usefulness of it.

Besides, being able to hit higher clocks for suicide runs will probably translate into higher 24/7 settings as well.
