So I recently purchased an e8400 from newegg and popped it in to my old build and after booting up i get absolutely nothing. No post, no flash, nothing. Before I bought this cpu I checked my mobo's site to see if the Wolfdale chips were compatible, according to this page all Wolfdale chips are compatible with my mobo as long as you flash the BIOS to version F13q. Which I did, and now I'm wondering if Gigabyte just lied or I screwed up somewhere.
And lastly, does anyone know newegg's return policy on situations like these? Can I just send the chip in for a refund, exchange, or no, and I'm stuck buying a new mobo?
Thanks.
