Which ortho's test is considered the "gold standard" to pass for a successful e6400 overclock?

ortho's small fft
ortho's large fft
ortho's blend

its debatable...

but i've always been a big fan of small fft over blend test.

but since i had a board that couldn't do blend test, i got kinda obsessive about it.

now, i run 10+ hours of small and 10+ hours of blend so... about 20 hours of testing minimum before I try to call an overclock stable.

some will say 24 hours of small followed by another 24 hours of memtest.

others will say loop 3dmark0X for hours and hours if the main thing you'll be doing is gaming.

it's all a matter of preference in the end.

just my humble .02

I run Orthos Blend for at least 8 hours, sometimes up to 15 if I let it run overnight then go out to work the next day without stopping it. Small FFTs is better to check stability under heat, in my opinion (either that or the Intel TAT CPU load function) but Orthos is somewhat more representative of system stability because it includes a memory test. Synthetic stress tests and benchmarks are all well and good but I'm not happy with 8 hours of Orthos Blend until I can play a few hours of high-demand games without any problem. FEAR is more of a real-world benchmark to add to the others but I wouldn't use synthetic or gaming on their own.

8 hours of blend has worked well for me.

At Vcore=1.350 it's solid.

At Vcore=1.3375 it reboots around an hour into Prime 95.

It would most likely be fine at 1.3375 in everything else but now I know at 1.35 I'm solid in all apps and loading situations.
