Reseller ratings post analyzed by me
Read the fine print.
As of today, $3.
Some people might need an older chip. Sorta like old cars, need parts from old cars, and they might cost a premium. Since googlegear got these chips before the northwoods, most likely, they paid a higher price, and trying to protect their bottom line. If these chips weren't moving, then they will lower their prices.
You ever watch stocks? Same idea... people buy, sell.. some win, some lose. Some wish they bought something at a lower price to have great profits later, but it past. You made a commitment to that processor, putting in the cart, verify that those are the items you want...
Sounds like a fair business practice. Restocking fees are norm for most online retailers. Are they suppose to cut you a deal when you made a mistake and admit to the mistake? Btw, as of today, you are crying over $3.
//scarcasm --> Yes, words are useless, laws are useless, my words are useless. Actions, arrests, hazing, whatever, blah are going to cut it.
More than generous. They can't sell an open processor, so they allowing you to return it, as long as it's like new.
What else can I say, besides that sometimes the needs of the few sometimes like to screw over the many.
1- Unfortunately, due to the way the P4 478 pins were listed (they start with the fastest northwoods, then list a few older chips THEN at the very bottom of the list is the 1.8A listed BELOW the 1.5ghz)Check it yourself: http://www.googlegear.com/jsp/ProductList.jsp?ThirdCategoryCode=010408

2- The price difference is around $5 which makes the sale of older chips at the same price a ripoff aimed at the regular joe.

1- Get a refund
2- AND Pay a restock fee of 15%
3- AND Pay myself for the shipping back of the part.
4- AND order the new part at full price
5- AND pay again for shipping
6- To top it off, she (the representative) hung up on me while I was asking for details about the shipping back!!

An apology is not going to cut it. I want actions, words are useless.

From Googlegear.com: If the processor is returned to us unopened, we will waive the restocking fee. Otherwise, the 15% will still apply.
