I loved Dead Island, Dead Island: Riptide (sadly Dead Island 2 was abandoned), and Dying Light and very much looking forward to the Dying Light 2 but unfortunately starting this thread with some sad news. The departure of art director and writer...

Ironically they are also from Poland and hopefully the game doesn't end up very bugged and unfinished like Cyberpunk.

We will see.

Uhh... did you by chance play Dead Island, Riptide, or Dying Light anywhere within the first month of their respective releases? They were absolute disasters with Dead Island being the worst one. I believe that was the last game I pre-ordered and pre-loaded to play at the midnight launch with some friends of mine and what we were given at midnight was a developer copy of the game. It was mostly incomplete and you could spawn anything anywhere as well as teleport around and access the debug menu. It took them almost a full day to realize their mistake and get the correct copy out, but even the 1.0 release was chocked full of bugs. Riptide and Dying Light were not spared by horrible launches either and if I remember right, Dying Light was still a buggy mess several months after it was released. It's a fairly flawless game now and considering the fanbase is still pretty large for Dying Light, I don't see the sequel just halting because of this news.

I predict it will be a hell storm at launch.

Lately, i don't expect any AAA title to be polished for launch, and instead released earily for beta testers to fix customer to report bugs.

Hasn't that been the case since the early 2000s? It's one of the main reasons I stopped pre-purchasing anything and why I wait so long before I check in on what the devs have worked on for patches. Wolcen is a great example of a horrible launch, extremely slow patching process, and toxic developers. Every time they released a new major patch, it completely broke something else and when people were complaining, the devs started talking down to people in the discussions and even banned a few people for posting work-arounds. Even though people say Dying Light truly shines as a co-op game, I'll be buying it for the single player so I'll give it the usual amount of time to see what it looks like half a year after launch.

Not exactly.
Unreal was released as best they could, but Epic had the good sense to listen to players and release updates. The idea of planning to release a bugged game and assuming you'd deal with it later was probably encouraged by EA and UBI.

nah ubisoft is more like lets make the game impossibly good, and then end up cutting everything out of the PC port to make the console kids happy.

I don't remember Dying Light being bad the first week. I know the performance was kind of crappy at first but I was just a hair above recommended hardware so could run at 1080p60 fps. But I know my 970 went from running the game about 65 fps to about 105 fps as later patches rolled out. I played that game entirely through like 3 times the first 6 months it was out.

I am looking forward to this game.
After the massive disappointment which new world was, and also the slight binge playing Icarus, i need something a bit immersive.
I hope this can fill that niche.

Dying light looks gorgeous. But I learned my lesson. Wait until reviews and then consumer reviews after release

Also my brand new xfx speedster 6600xt is already a shit card probably for this game

Why would people want to watch spoilers on a game they plan on playing? Not saying you shouldn't post them, I just don't understand that mentality of watching something you're going to play. It just ruins the experience in my opinion.

All content like videos and texts about the game are spoilers. People watch or read them to get an idea of what the product is like so they can make a decision to buy it or not.

I just skimmed through some of it.

I'm unsure whether to get this for PC or PS5. I played the first one on PS4 but the story didn't really make me want to continue so I never finished it. This one looks to be a lot more interesting and from what I've seen they have fleshed out some more of the story.
