It took me about five minutes to type all this. Learning Dvorak is going to take a while, isn't it...

It's supposed to be faster. The qwerty keyboard was designed to prevent jamming of keys on typewriters. So common letters are spread out.

From what I have read it takes a lot less time to learn than QWERTY, I hope that after a month I will be back up to my usual speed, and soon after I will improve. Right now I'm just getting used to the layout, and it does make much more sense. Words seem more flowing rather than random, and my fingers stay on home row more often. And its not as if once I learn DVORAK I will forget QWERTY, most people who use DVORAK are also very capable in QWERTY.
I just wish DVORAK keyboards weren't so expensive![]()
