It is a sad day; I actually use that software for legitimate reasons.

Me too. The main reason I use it is because kids are hell on the original discs. If a movie is worth buying, it is also worth keeping in pristine condition. If it goes to the sitter's or relatives house, it goes on a DVD+RW only. If I ever get a car DVD player, you can be sure I'll do my best to make sure my originals stay out of the hot car and out of thieves hands.

That's why I have a CD-MP3 player in my car. No way in hell would I keep a load of originals in my car. For one thing, it would require lots of disc swapping. And, if the car is broken into, the cost of the damages and theft will go up considerably if a CD collection is included.

I haven't used DVD Decrypter since DVD Shrink came out.

I've needed to - on every disc I've tried, DVD Shrink gives some kind of error part way through. Onc DVD Decrypter had a go at the disc, DVD Shrink did the job just fine.
That's what sucks about all this - I rip DVDs and CDs I own for simple convenience. I don't share the files, and I don't give copies of discs away. I do it so I can take a movie to work and watch it during lunch and breaks without putting the original at risk of damage or theft. I keep MP3s (well, now they're mostly FLAC) on my hard drive so I don't have to constantly go looking for the CDs. (A few of my CDs I haven't seen in well over a year.)
