Duran Duran? Dude, only girls dig that stuff. Well, they did back in the early 80's.

Playing "Save a prayer" on my stereo = guarnteed laid.

🙂

trust me, it works.

Yeah, maybe 20 years ago when they actually were interesting to people.

I'm sure there are fans of 80's music on this forum. You know we're not all 7 year olds with too little parental supervision. 😉

heh, he doesn't realize the original poster is a very hot lady.

I didn't know she was hot, but I knew she was a lady. I've recently gained a bit more respect for the things you geezers listen to. 😛

heh, the 80s produced some great music.

Much, much better than today's pop.

I'm more of a fan of the LATE 80s and into the 90s, but there is some great stuff that came out of the 80s. My roommate listens to the 80s station on our cable connection, and some of it isn't bad. Definitely better than most of the crap in the 00s.

Is she older than 12?

Yeah it's older thread, but I gotta reply.
The new Duran Duran album is really good (I recommend the version w/ DVD). If you're a teenager and only listen to the newest top 40 band of the month, you might not like it. If you're an old school Duran Duran fan like me, you'll probably like it. Simple as that.
Only for girls? Grow up.
My brother is 38 and he loves the new DD album. Heck I thought their last album was good too, and that tour rocked.

And to Rudee, or anyone else that says DD isn't interesting to anyone anymore, you obviously haven't been to a recent DD show, or have seen them on any of the dozen or so TV shows they've performed on lately, performing their first single a few months ago and their second single this week (also played at Carson Daly's New Years Eve special), since they draw huge crowds, and they (crowds) go berzerk. Hot women singing and screaming like they did to the Beatles. Fans are still getting Duran Duran tattoos.

I've heard parts of it. They're trying too hard not to be Duran Duran. I say stick to what got you there. Look at Depeche Mode and The Cure. Damn I want new dmode album!!

DMode totally rocks. They developed over the years.

Whoa whoa whoa... that's the kinda crap that MADE 80's music... 😛

I'm sure you know they started working on a new album. For awhile it was questionable when or if they'd make another.

I love the old girls on film two chics wrestling with champaign...

Best videos of the early video revolution. Rio Disc was almost all great IMO.

Which really isn't their style anyway.

<-- Has a Rio LP in his cabinet.

Same here.....one of the best rock albums of all time.

😕

"rock"? You need to lay down the crackpipe there buddy, because Duran Duran is not, never was, and never will be a rock band.

"Arguing with an idiot"? Let me quote your own link, and add some emphasis:

Duran Duran personified new wave for much of the mainstream audience. And for good reason, too. Duran Duran's reputation was built through music videos, which accentuated their fashion-model looks and glamorous sense of style. Without music videos, it's likely that the band's pop-funk -- described by the group as the Sex Pistols meets Chic -- would never have made them international pop stars. While Duran Duran did have sharper pop sensibilities than their new romantic contemporaries like Spandau Ballet...

Thank you. Now please go sit down.

Hello? Do you know who the King of Rock was? Not someone with a dropped tuning shredding grunge sound.

Both of DD's guitarists have used Gibson Les Pauls at some point, with distortion pedals, therefore you could safely call them a rock band. Hard rock? No.
Actually Warren Cuccarillo could/can shred it, doing it occasionally live. Andy Taylor wanted to be a metal god and tried after he left DD.

Gotta love Fusetalk's quoting.
