the only Duran Duran song I was ever a fan of was Come Undone.

Which really isn't their style anyway.

<-- Has a Rio LP in his cabinet.

Same here.....one of the best rock albums of all time.

"rock"? You need to lay down the crackpipe there buddy, because Duran Duran is not, never was, and never will be a rock band.

Arguing with an idiot is futile.....go here

"Arguing with an idiot"? Let me quote your own link, and add some emphasis:

Duran Duran personified new wave for much of the mainstream audience. And for good reason, too. Duran Duran's reputation was built through music videos, which accentuated their fashion-model looks and glamorous sense of style. Without music videos, it's likely that the band's pop-funk -- described by the group as the Sex Pistols meets Chic -- would never have made them international pop stars. While Duran Duran did have sharper pop sensibilities than their new romantic contemporaries like Spandau Ballet...

Thank you. Now please go sit down.
Hello? Do you know who the King of Rock was? Not someone with a dropped tuning shredding grunge sound.

Both of DD's guitarists have used Gibson Les Pauls at some point, with distortion pedals, therefore you could safely call them a rock band. Hard rock? No.
Actually Warren Cuccarillo could/can shred it, doing it occasionally live.

The King of Rock? Elvis?

Sorry about the idiot comment, I didn't mean it that way as it is more of an expression.......anyway new wave, pop-funk, synth-pop are all STYLES but they all fall under the single GENRE of ROCK. Look a the left margin of the page for the listings. That is what I was trying to illustrate. I never said they were the same kind of rock as Led Zepppelin but Duran Duran's music still falls under the general genre of rock no matter how you slice it.
