why do people write dates like this:
5/5/05
Or, sometimes even 05/05/05
This has bugged me for 5 years...
Why can't July 4 this year simply be 7/4/5?
Sure, there's a 2 digit field in many programs (I thought we got rid of that after 1999)
But, when writing the date, I can see no reason to squeeze in the 0. Habit?
If, because of the millenium bug, you won't feel comfortable unless you write out the entire 7/4/2005, then fine. I can live with that. But, what's the difference between using 5 and using 05?
I encourage all of you to drop the use of the 0 in the year until the year 2010.
