Seriously. If the installer is 1.4GB, how big is the actual game after we install it? Even at 1.4GB, it's about the same size as some older full games.

The weird thing is, this install is fast and the game loads faster than a lot of games with bigger footprints.

I never played DS1, but i like Diablo 2 and I will have to buy this when it comes out.

Just played a little DS2, seems alright.

However, I am irritated that the highest resolution it lets me select is 1280x1024, when I have a 2005FPW. And the fact that the main menu is stuck at 800x600, really makes character creation a pain. All pixellated and blurry. :(

The visuals aren't too bad, seems to have an interesting storyline too, for a combat oriented game. I'll play a little more tomorrow.

I downloaded and installed and played a while. I've been looking for a Diablo2 type game for a while, and this may be it. I enjoyed the 10-15 minutes I played. I also noticed that the res. what limited to 1280x1024.

Anyone know if this game is suppose to have a co-op way to play? That's what I'm really trying to find. Me and a buddy had a blast going thru D2 co-op. I sure hope this has it.

Yes it does. In fact there was an open multiplayer beta that was released and you could play Coop.

I was wondering if anybody could help me figure out why I can't unzip the downloaded demo-file? What happens is my Winrar get stuck on 0%, then the program crashes (and takes forever to be terminated from the XP application manager.) I've tried downloading the file from different sources (yes, that really took forever...) and my computer is free from viruses, adware and spyware. My drivers are new and fresh and Winrar has never done this before. Anybody with the same problem and, preferably, a solution to it?

They seemed to have turned DS from a "Play itself game" to a "click fest". I used to be able to tell my fighters to just keep attacking something until it died in DS, now i have to keep clicking on the damned enemy to get them to continue attacking. I like it better the way it was...

Not very good reviews so far from most gamers, with most complaints being the horrible NPC AI, who frequently forget their issued orders and get slaughtered way too often. Also, only one save per character and you must restart the save from the town that you had left. That seems like a nod to the console world, as DS2 will probably show up on the XBox2. The controls in DS1 were incredibly easy to pick up, so now you have to go through a 20 minute tutorial to figure out that the commands and controls are quite crappy compared to the original.

ANY sequel should build on the success of the original, but this one looks like a stinker that had too many cooks in the kitchen. GPG had plenty of input and criticism leveled at it for DS1, so everyone expected more. But the graphics appear to be worse than DS1 (how is THAT possible ???) and the game has not added anything new to make it a worthwhile purchase.

Anyone else care to comment on it ? I did like the beta, but that was a small sample of the overall gameplay, so I might just buy it as nothing else is on my gaming map for months. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is all I have left on my short list. Damn, I am gaming bored to death here.

Here's my current gaming map in no particular order:

Spore
Supreme Commander
Galactic Civilizations 2
STALKER
Hellgate: London
Call of Duty 2
Civlization 4
Dragon Age
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

:D

Well... The graphics don't appear worse, they are similar but more colorful. I can't comment on the AI, but I don't really have any issues with the controls. They changed them because they realized certain characters really didn't have to do ANYTHING in the original. It was more like the game was playing itself. Also, The major improvement this game has over the original is that the world actually appears alive with a decent story and plot. Anyone who remembers the original, remembers several cookie cutter towns and a billion miles of forrest/desert etc in any direction. I just hope this one has a hidden island like the first one, that place rocked.

I never played DS1, but i was looking for a diablo clone and found this game 2 days before the demo appeared. I like the game, I rarely have time to play with friends so a group that I controlled is cool. The graphics could be better but I really enjoyed this game and will buy it.

Since this is a MS game and only installs on Win Xp, anyone know if they designed it for Win XP 64?

Now if only blizzard would up the resolution on Diablo 2 and re release it I could play that game one more time.
