Developers need to unite Steam, Origin, Uplay, GFWL and all such other shit into one common portal. This might be a little off topic but is one big gripe that I have and absolutely hate signing into such programs in order to play different games.

ooh, i forgot about escort missions. I've always hated them no matter what game genre they are in.

Timed missions are a bane of my existence as well.

1) mouse acceleration

2) bad mouse sensitivity control or a need to carefully tweak dpi in the mouse driver to get the ability to rotate on a pixel by pixel basis in the program

3) no mouse support in menus

4) bad mouse control added as a clumsy remapping of controller-driven interfaces, like BL2 in which you sometimes have to wiggle the cursor over the menu option you want to select before the application recognizes that you don't instead want to click some other option it's got highlighted at another location on the screen

5) mouse or other input lag

absolutely agree -----> QTE's are horrible --- the other thing is pathetic scripting (mostly seen with COD and a few other FPS's) wherein passing an invisible barrier causes enemies to either stop spawning or continue to spawn until the next line is crossed.

so old I was playing QTE in the 70's

hated it then, hate it now.. QTE need to go.. we learned it HARD with Video Disc games.. they died the death they deserved after the novelty wore off.

Enforced stealth mission in an otherwise non-stealth oriented game.

Gimmicky kills in otherwise straight damage or otherwise kill oriented games. (Making someone immune to damage until a certain puzzle is solved as for example).

Agree whole-heartedly with these!

Unskippable movies of any kind.

Limited saves of any description

Limited controls (made to fit inside a console)

Dumbing down the game so that the console crowd will understand it

Inability to invert the view axis

Reliance on GFWL

Always online

oh god, GFWL. I want to murder!

Agree with OP.

I hate motion blur. I already have an LCD. I don't need any more blur when moving! Can't stand the lack of good alt+tab functionality.

OK I'll bite:

1- Unskippable movies. Gawd I hate this crap and it still crops up in games. Sometimes you have to sit through an opening movie for a game only just the first time... every time you reinstall it. Just let the damn thing be skip-able. OTE's are basically movies you're FORCED to pay attention to.

2- This one is a bit more specific to RPGs, but please don't suddenly FORCE me to use characters I haven't used the ENTIRE DAMN GAME without any kind of heads up or warning. Bioware is really guilty of this. Now I can't progress in X game cause crap character y has starting armor and weapons z and he has to take down end game enemies by himself.

Invisible walls.

Herding players away from areas that are too tough for them in ways other than handing them their own @$$. If I am dumb enough to charge into the Dragon's lair when I am level 1, I should be allowed to take a sudden and very flamy dirt nap and then restart again from last save point. Don't hold my hand and prevent me from going in.
