even if it's not the highest quality graphics wise, as long as it comes with a full does of DN humor it could be a success...assuming it's not bug ridden.

wtf does that even mean? Mainstream as in non-indy gaming? A good game is a good game regardless of how indy or mainstream it is.

The only thing I'd worry about if someone told me "Borderland's creator is finishing DNF" is that Borderlands was a good idea, but it was honestly poorly executed. You could probably make a laundry list of things that should've been different.

Wish someone would "leak" the trailer they saw behind closed curtains - supposedly it's awesome, very crude, and filled with a lot of expletives and sexual references [the usual awesome stuff we'd expect from the Duke]

This is one of those that no matter what they show me, after everything that's been going on with this game I won't believe it until I see the game finished in my hands.

I agree. The graphics doesn't have to be something revolutionary. Its all about gameplay and Duke attitude that I want. Looking at the video the graphics look modern enough for my liking. You have to look past the eye candy and see whats inside the game itself. Thats what is important. If its bug ridden and/or poor level design then all the pretty graphics in the world won't help it. Hopefully they'll get it right. Duke and his fans deserve it.

This, it will certainly not be a release date purchase or anywhere near for me either. I've lived without out it for this long, what's another year. I'd rather save the $$ and buy it on a $5 steam sale.

I'm sorry, but at this point I would regard DNF actually being released as some sort of harbinger of the end of the world, like the moon turning blood red or all the dolphins vanishing or something.

If we see the second portent - the completion of the Black Mesa Source mod - then I think we should be very afraid.

I played the Duke Nukem 3D in about 1994 or so.

I was 14 at the time.

Most gamers 25 and under probably don't even know who the fuck this character is outside of the jokes about the game.

Since Duke Nukem 3D hooked me so long ago, I have:

1. Received my JD and MBA.

2. Married.

3. Divorced.

4. Remarried.

5. Made partner at a law firm.

6. Had two kids (now in kindergarten and first grade).

7. Seen three cats and two dogs come and go.

Through all of the ups and downs, I could always rely on the rock solid belief that Duke Nukem Forever would never be released. I guess like all things in life, this too must pass. At least I might be able to play it before I start getting invitations to join AARP.

Haha, anybody that thinks a DNF video would be SFW is a dumbass. NSFW is the definition of the Duke.

lol true, just thought I'd put that there before someone complains about a lack of Warning. Kinda like putting "May contain Peanuts" on a package of Peanuts. :D

Amazing what can happen in 12-15 years. :)

fuck they totally consolized it

As long as you can play with normal response time with a mouse and keyboard, I will be fine with it. It doesn't look consolized at all to me, it just looks like a FPS played on a console (and it looks like it would be a pain to play on the console too.)
