Duke Nukem Forever on Steam

Well, I always hoped this day would come. like many for the longest time I didn't think it would ever happen. Like most games I buy though I'll wait for the reviews first. I'am glad Duke has returned. I hope its a good one.

Yeah I saw that sale ealier but think I will still wait. No need tieing up $45 (to save $5) in case the damn thing gets moved back which could never happen to Duke, right?? 😉

Man, I wish I still had my box copy of Duke Nukem 3D. It got "garage saled" years ago.

I think this game uses steamworks. Might as well pick it up at d2d, which also has 10% off preorder. But you can send yourself a referral coupon good for 15% off, which stacks. Makes the game 38.21. And then you should be able to activate the code they send you on steam.

I want the game, but I'm waiting till the demo is out to make my decision. I've been in the mood for a non serious/military FPS for a bit now and Duke is looking to fit the bill. I have a fair amount of credit over on D2D so I can pick it up for cheaper then with coupons too and just activate on Steam if I enjoy the demo. First access club people should get it soon.

will wait for sale
i rarely buy at release for full or nearly full price anymore since it seems most games go on sale very shortly after release

Ya, and with this game in particular, I don't think it will kill me to wait a bit longer.

Ill just wait for it to come out. I will however play my Duke Nukem 3D for a few days, just to get into the mood. Probably wont buy it till a sale or I see a buttload of good reviews.

So tempted - however with all the great deals for Portal 2 just before the release I'll just wait a bit longer...

\only been waiting 13 years - a bit more won't matter...

They screwed around with their little delay game one too many times for me. I look forward to seeing it in the bargain bin - 2011 is much too exciting a gaming year to bother with this.

What a sick joke. Jesus returns on the 21st and these guys are still trying to take our money knowing we'll never play it. D::thumbsdown:

😀

I don't understand why people pre-purchase games - what's the point of doing this? Why not just buy it on release day, or better yet wait for reviews/a demo?

Usually there is a discount, and you get to say "yey I pre-ordered it, I rock!".

I waiting until it hits the bargain bin. No reason to jump on this game, I've waited many years, I can wait another for a steam sale.

Think I am going to wait to see if Best Buy or Direct2Drive offers some kind of promotion sale before I buy from Steam.

10% is the usual discount for pre-purchase, but if I can get it for less, then so be it.

After waiting so long, its still a little difficult to believe that DNF is actually on steam. I will be even more surprised when its unlocked and I get to play.

Its hard to believe that gamers have been waiting over a decade for DNF.

10% discount through steam, sometimes more discounts through places like direct2drive.

Send yourself a friend referral coupon from d2d and you will get 15% (from the referral) and you can also use the 10% preorder coupon. They all stack so you get the game for 25% off or ~$38

I do not know how to send a referral on direct2drive.
