fuck son you can't even type right. It's DRIVING, not DIVING.

fail...so full of fail.

I really don't care on penis size. That's something you are dealing with I guess.

When you finally moving out?

Moving out? Did that seventeen years ago. Aren't you still living with your mom or some old lady?

You keep attacking me.

I didn't say google is bad, I said you just using google to try and trump everyone else is.

Your articles are part of the whole problem. Both lawyers and the MADD/SADD team...in reality most will not find their premiums raised by a simple DUI arrest.

Kill someone or wreck your car, then yes; expect a rate increase.
You're still wrong.

But you are seasoned, so you will attempt to debunk any article ever written about the penalty of increased insurance rates due to a DUI/DWI with your little message board quips.

If your insurance did not increase after your DUI conviction you are one lucky bastard.

No, my point is that a "no tolerance" breathalyzer in a vehicle could be a potential problem for many reasons....emergency, safety, it could fail....then I'm stuck and can't go anywhere in my car, etc. 1 glass of wine with dinner is not drinking and driving.

Now if you are a repeat offender, then putting a no limit, or a .08 limit breathalyzer in a car is reasonable. But come on, do you honestly think it's right and good to put a no limit breathalyzer in cars? You can't have 1 beer with a buddy or 1 glass of wine with a nice meal? You're as bad as those who claim they can drive fine at a .15....just on the other end of the spectrum.

I'm a man of compromise I'd be comfortable with a +/- .02 tolerance

No, he doesn't think it's a good idea to put breathalyzers in every car. He's only arguing that point because he thinks it proves that the goal of DUI laws is to raise revenue, and therefore they are unjust.

I honestly wouldn't be against it. It would be bothersome for a few months then it would just be something you do without thinking about.

anyone hear about the steering wheel that someone invented? measures blood / alcohol content... there was a news story about it recently..

progressive is one company. Many do not...all state doesn't fault 1st offense.

You seem to think exceptions prove your point....there are many companies that do not fault 1st time DUI's without property damage.

Which company?

And LOL at you saying I use exceptions to prove my point when you are the one doing that.

This is why I follow my own rule of 1 drink/hour, up to a maximum of 4 drinks.

edit: Also, I'm all for DUI laws, but lets be realistic. The people blowing 0.08 aren't the ones causing the accidents. If people wanna drive drunk, they are gonna drive drunk regardless of what the law is. It's the people driving around at .2 who don't give a shit what the limit is who are causing all the accidents. You people act like if they dropped the limit to 0.02 that people would suddenly stop driving drunk.

Dropping the limit by .02 would have the same effect on drunk driving as the 'war on drugs' has had on drug abuse.

It will just make otherwise innocent people criminals.

There are SEVERAL major carriers that do not penalize.

All State is one, State Farm is another. There websites probably say differently due to exposure to the loonies like in this thread.

Also keep in mind your own link says: "In fact, a DUI often directly impacts what you pay for auto insurance." Throughout that page they use "MAY" and "CAN BE"...

I am willing to bet a simple DUI arrest without accident/injury would not change a progressive rate other than perhaps if you were in their top notch policy. Progressive has several tiers.

come on... that is so weak. "their websites probably say differently". how the hell are you going to prove anything you've said???

sheesh, expected a least something from you.

I agree with this. It seems that some in this thread don't see that the legal limit HAS to be set "low" because people, like the OP, try to "shoot for" the legal limit on their way out of the bar. If the legal limit was set to a more "drunk" level, we'd have a bigger problem. Everyone underestimates how much they drink, it's a fact that has been backed up time and time again with anecdotal/empirical evidence.

Mosh has presented evidence, you're provided anecdote. Guess who has more credibility right now.

Truthfully, the OP may not have actually been at the legal limit. If he was breathalyzed, then his actual BAC could be artificially elevated if his last drink was shortly before he blew. The alcohol residue in your mouth that lasts for something like 20 minutes can artificially elevate it.

You guys are all a bunch of fucking RETARDS.

Shut the fuck up, none of ya'll are a reliable source on the matter.

wait, let me drink 3 beers and i'll get back to you.

If three beers gets you to .08, then you are the lightest lightweight I've ever met. Three drinks, in about 20 minutes, with an absolutely empty stomach might get me to about .05. But they'd also have to be hard liquor drinks, not beer for this to work too.
