If you would have gotten a finger food, like sweet & sour chicken, you could have eaten it while you were driving to the scene. 😛

Yes, I know that sweet & sour chicken isn't really "Chinese" food, but at most American Chinese restaurants, neither is 99% of the other stuff on the menu.
It's not really a finger food either. I mean, sure the chicken is but the rice+sauce+fingers is worse than tweeting while driving. 😉

well, that's a rather bold statement. 🙄
Your mocking the wrong poster, redirect to BUTCH1's post about how a suspended license would stop D&D.

Did you mean this was his 7th arrest for DUI or you caught 7 people in one day for DUI??. It's amazing to me how many people have multiple arrests (and convictions) for this yet still somehow still have a license, after #'s 3, 4 you would hope their license would be suspended permanently.

My 7th DUI arrest. There's not enough time in the day to get seven...I have four reports to do just off this case. 😱

Do these people know they're just going to get a slap on the wrist, or do they just not give a damn about the consequences. Do they start balling and begging for just another chance / this is the first time I've done this / other sob story?

"Can't you just let me go??"

"No."

It's getting harder to sell the idiots on these thread titles. 🙁

Oh don't worry, I'll come up with a good one for #10. 😀

What did he blow on the brethalyzer if he did at all?

Failed roadside tests, refused breath/blood test(s).

Have you ever had to go to court for a DUI case that went to a Jury? Just curious as to how many go that far.

Drunk a-hole drivers really make me angry. Thanks for killing my aunt that I never got to meet cause of you douches.

I didn't realize you could refuse those tests. So when you do that I guess you get taken to the station.... and then what.

Depends on the state. In Texas they take your DL (unless it is out of state) and you have an automatic suspension for 6 months after ALR hearing (if you get one) is 30 days after arrest.

You don't have to take any tests if you don't want, but if a cop tells you to take an FST and you refuse you are going to get arrested. Only time you are forced to give blood/breath sample is when there is a crash involved and/or you injure/kill someone else.

In most states you can legally refuse the FST's...where is the automatic 6 month suspension you see for refusing the FST? You can be arrested for refusing it in order to be taken into custody for a breath or blood test. In general FSTs only provide the officer with evidence to be used in court. Almost everyone looks drunk doing them and there is no 'pass/fail', it's all up to the officer. I saw a video once where you got to see people doing FST's, some were drunk, some were not drinking. Most people were way off figuring out who was who.

In most states a 6 month automatic suspension is for refusing to submit to a breat or blood test.

If you believe you have been drinking too much getting a blood test or flat out refusing is in your best interest to beat the ticket. 9 times out of 10 the breath/blood test trumps everything else.

I ended up blowing a .168 one night still don't know who it was possible. I wasn't drunk, I performed the FST's fine although what lead to my arrest was I said the alphabet backwards (the cop wrote the responses down as he had too, I was accurate 3 times; he didn't know what I was doing) when asked. I had a hard time understanding the officer as we was having me do my FST's on the middle line of a road. In the video there were cars whizzing my me and the officer (standing on the side of the road) jumped out of the way a few times. It was a total BS stop due to the cop being a friend of the chick I was breaking up with. They stopped me in my driveway, I had my tab with me....I was broke at the time and only had less than 6 beers in over a 6 hour period. I was pushing 185-190lbs. I should not have blown that high.

Hit & run / DUI...caught 'em though! Not a very interesting story, other than it happened just as my dinner arrived. Cold Chinese food FTL. 🙁

Don't drink and drive, people!
You should also be able to charge them for the cost of your meal :sneaky:

I never said that your DL will get suspended if you refuse an FST, I only said you will get arrested.

And you are correct, unless you know exactly how much you have had to drink the best thing to do is refuse everything (or just not drive at all). I had a portable breathlyzer I used for fun and it is crazy easy to blow past .08.

I see now...you quoted someone's quote. I only caught the FST part.

AFAIK you can request a blood test in most states instead of a breath test and still be 'legal'.

I hope nobody listens to you, because you clearly do not know what you're talking about...

There are six indicators for horizontal gaze nystagmus, four for one leg stand, and eight for walk and turn. I'm sure if you use the internet you can look that up for yourself.

lol so do sober people look sober doing them. Also indicators <> to objectivity. You take a snapshot of things you mention here for court proof? Sir, let me shoot that gaze..that's the easy one. You can never see it on the cruiser video, but all the occifer has to do is state it.

BINGO big fines for the county

A guy with a DUI attacking my credibility. Pardon me while I quake in my boots...

If sober people performed the same as impaired people, there'd be no point to the tests.

I bet there would be a lot of sober people who would 'fail' the tests due to various reasons such as poor balance, lack of ability to follow directions, etc.. I'm sure the tests are fairly accurate in narrowing it down though.. But.. as a general rule, people should avoid talking to the police, especially when they are guilty, but even when you are not. I like this long but interesting video:

Talking to you guys will do nothing to help you. 🙂

Don't drink and drive, people!

You have the right to remain silent (but because you are drunk we both know you are going blabber on until I can barely resist the urge to shoot you). Blah, blah blah. Do you understand these rights as they have been read to you? (You probably won't remember a word I say you drunk bastard.) *smack in the back of head* This is for the vomiting you are about to do in the backseat of my squad car! 😀
