The girl is not much smarter than him since it took her 2 months to break up with him after that. If someone doesn't know people have died doing this, ropes do break.

actually if you watch the other vid the pivot point moves to the center of the gap as you swing, i doubt it would happen, the amount of free fall basically centered them before they even swung out

Wow that sucks. You'd think they would be testing their setup before by throwing something off it first, like a large bag with 300lbs worth of sand bags or something else that exceeds the weight they'll be putting on it, so they can confirm it will hold, and that the rope is short enough.

Scary.. not sure I could do that. The key thing is to JUMP right when you get strapped up, though. People make it so much worse for themselves by standing there forever. I know this from some cliff-to-water jumps I've done, some I would never do again because they were insane. I just had to walk up not think about it and jump ASAP

Well I only have experience jumping without a rope. But you can still clip in thoroughly and not stand at the edge looking down
