OSU has played 4 teams still ranked in the top 25, 2 of whom are in the top 3.

Oregon has played 2 teams still ranked in top 25, 1 in first (loss) one ranked 19th

OSU beat the current 22nd and 25th. their losses were by less (45-13 for Oregon vs. USC, totalling 32 pts, while OSU has lost by a combined total of 10 points)

OSU is a better team, they know what to do now and have everything under control.

QFT, OSU would wreck Oregon...

The Pac 10 argument lost its credibility to me last year when Cal supposedly got screwed out of the BCS than got lunched by Texas Tech in the Holiday Bowl.

same could be said about texas year before that when they thought they shud have got a bcs bowl and got beaten pretty well by washington state

but texas isn't in the pac 10 and texas wasn't whining about the bcs after ou lost in the big 12 title game.

Mack Brown might not have been, but there were Texas fans on AT who were.

saying that the texas fans that post on a computer forum are a true representation of all the texas fans as a whole isn't exactly an intelligent statement.

Well, I already ignored Texas fans on the internet ;)

How about this quote from right before the Holiday bowl?
The Longhorns are the highest-ranked team not in the BCS.

"If we lose this game, we're going to get ragged on," Benson said. "Everybody's going to think we're sorry and soft. here's a lot of pride on the line for us."

I haven't heard yet but has anyone else heard what bowl Oregon might go to? I only heard Fiesta Bowl so far but imo that game will be Ohio St. v ND. ND would get it because the national following and I think OSU would get the nod over Oregon because it would be a better matchup making them more money.

IF this were to happen, what bowl would Oregon play in?

The Holiday Bowl unless UCLA upsets USC, then it would be the Sun Bowl.

And for the record I don't like Cal. They are whiners, they've been very unsportsman about their QB this year, and to top it off, Cal is the snobbiest school in the nation or so I've been told by many people.

Also I'd like to bring up an old post I was reading about coaches who might get fired this year. Anyone mention ASU's coach Dirk Koetter? How many disapointing seasons has he had?

it really sucks for the ducks that they probably wont get invited to the Fiesta Bowl...

how they can defend two teams that have lost 2 games going over a 1 loss team (that loss being to USC) is ridiculus

I think Ohio should go and i am even a notre dame fan, but since I have been at UCLA (the last 4 years) I have realized how biased people are against the PAC-10...the Ducks should be in that game.

I guess the only way to shake things up is for UCLA to beat up on USC...GO BRUINS!

everyone who hates the BCS should be a Bruins fan this weekend, I mean who would play for the national championship then??

If you are a true Bruins fan and from a Pac-10 school, you'll realize that you will still get screwed if UCLA wins. So you get the Holiday Bowl. YAY. Guess who got that last year when they got shafted by the BCS? Cal. That's right. If USC loses now, the Pac-10 gets screwed PLUS we're screwed in the future because they'll just think we're overrated. The Ducks on the other hand are definitely an awesome team, and they are miles better than UCLA. How does a school like UCLA that has like 0 rushing defense and allowed 336 yards against Cal get up there in the ranks? The Ducks move the ball and play the entire game far better, and it's sad Oregon isn't going to get a BCS bowl, but that's ok.... USC will carry the Pac-10 on.

How did Cal get shafted?

I'd say the BCS got it right. Cal got rolled by Texas Tech....if they were BCS-worthy, they'd have killed Tech and shown the BCS that they were wrong.

Oregon is a pretender. Look at who they've played. They've beaten zero really good teams. The only really good team they played was USC, and they got hammered.

No way Oregon should get a BCS game over some of the other teams that might go, like Miami, or LSU.
Oregon has ONE win vs. Sagarin's top 30.

Sorry, but Oregon's 10-1 isn't as good as Miami's 9-2, or LSU's 10-1, or OSU's 9-2 or Auburn's 9-2. Or Notre Dame's 9-2 for that matter.

Put Oregon in the ACC, Big Ten or SEC, and they have 4 losses, easily.

The BCS doesn't always get the title game right, but they're usually pretty good with the rest of the field, just like last year with Cal.

its debatable if the bowl result was proof they didnt deserve the spot, its about matchups, the year before that texas was 1 or 2 loss i think and got left out of the bcs and were beaten by washington state (who lost to washington), could be cal just had a big let down at being left out and just didnt show up,

Maybe, but look at Oregon's whole season. They simply haven't beaten anyone. And they've had mostly close games, even against mediocre opponents.

So I agree that one game doesn't necessarily tell the tale, but looking at the whole season does.

Oregon needs to play AND beat some top 25 teams on and then they'll deserve that BCS slot.

LSU should have 4 losses easily too. If Arkansas' and Auburn's kickers make 50 percent of field goals under 50 yards and Alabama has any type of an offense or Arizona State doesn't fold down the stretch LSU is 7-4

Oregon is not that good of a team, and if they are matched up with a decent opponent they will lose their bowl game.

Auburn is better. OSU is better. I won't say ND is better, because I think ND Is overrated.

Well Oregon isn't going to play a good team this year in a bowl game despite being a Top-10 team. I guess we'll never find out how good they or the pac-10 really are this year.

Pac-10 is one of the weakest conferences (if not the weakest) in the country? Maybe that's why...?

You are crazy. They have 3 top 15 teams, and 2 top 5 teams, including the best college football team ever. They are weak???? Give me a fvcking break.

Fresno state lost to a nobody team, and in all likelihood will drop out of the top 25. This means that at the end of the season the ducks have not beaten a top 25 team. Oregon, like the rest of the Pac-10 is completely overrated. Oregon and UCLA would both have at least 3 losses in the ACC, SEC, and even the big ten.

In your opinion. In reality, you have no idea. I think the people who do the rankings know more about college football than you, hence Oregon being ranked ahead of any team in the ACC and SEC, and only Penn State is ranked ahead of them in the Big 10.

Smoke that dope longer. The SEC is by far the best conference. Year in and year out they have the most teams in the Top 25, the most teams going to bowls...
