Ok everyone has been giving me bad feedback about the K6-2 and 3 processors. I have one pentium pro cpu somewhere so i was thinking how a dual pentium pro setup would do. Any better than celeron's or k6-2's?
play some old games like quake 2, unreal tournament, and so on. but mainly to serve as a hardware firewall for our apartment. i see you go or went to virginia tech. i'm there right now finishing my fifth year. what year are you?
Check Pricewatch. I recently saw a motherboard for 15.00 new for old pentium pro's. But purring one together with fans might cost you more than a super cheap PC.
But if you go that route it will be fine for what you are doing.
Or you could go to surplus computer outlet and get a P3 466 machine for 70.00 that will be much faster.
