Yea... the more i've been playing the more of a pain in the ass.. it has been to keep this duo up
and running... because with this duo it seems im loosing xp overtime.. and it really is alot more involved
with these characters.. so i might just throw in the towel.. and lvl my undead warlock...

who knows ill try this duo out some more later tonite and tomm.. but you guys might be right and this is a lost cause...

I'm going to try Shaman / Mage and level with my roommate who is going warrior. That should be a pretty nice group makeup.

Did everyone notice green drops/quests' reward for BC? The great stats they got compare to the old stuffs? I won the "Helm of Narv" from AH a few days before BC went live for $98g and thought I got a great deal. It usually went for 250g~300g on our server. Came BC and I headed over the portal and what do I see? A kill quest's reward with a head piece with stats that blow the "Narv" out of the water. Let me go sit in the corner and cry a little bit. :(

I dual boxed a 60 priest and 60 warrior a lot. You can really do some serious farming with that combo and it's pretty low maintenance. About all you have to do is hit renew every once in a while and bust out the larger heals on harder mobs.

I generally just had 4 simple macros I used (paraphrased syntax as I haven't played since October) :

1) ever-important '/follow <soandso>' macro =)
2) Renew '/target <soandso> /cast renew(x)'
3) Damage 1 '/assist <soandso> /shoot wand'
4) Damage 2 '/assist <soandso> /cast shadow word pain(x)'

With these simple macros you can go non-stop for hours. Of course my priest was pretty tweeked out with decent gear and my warrior had enough purpley-goodness to be a very effective damage dealer.

shaman/mage didn't work out so well (went up to 7) it was a really awkward combo to use.

Shaman/Paladin however... Wowie. Right now I have the shammy on follow of the paly. It works really well since both are melee, once they get high level I see this being a real potent combo. It's also nice since i'm primarily questing (since i'm rerolling ally from horde) so there is no quest that is beyond me although every quest does take longer.

warrior priest or warrior paladin is sick and I would argue the best

i played priest/warrior with my wife, and sometimes dual boxed - it will never be as easy as EQ I played up to like 6 chars at once on EQ farming thanks to macroquest
wow you will just have to make do with the built in scripting and addons, which are very helpful
its pretty easy, even more so if you do it on two computers, I did it on one, and it was kinda slow (old pc)

GL - I haven't played wow in over a year, but if you need any help with scripting or addons feel free to pm

PS I would go Paladin/Warrior on PVP server, and Priest/Warrior on PVE server.
I know it was frustrating as hell playing with my wife's priest, because they are so weak on PVP server. Tons of corpse runs for her character, but we owned BGs once we got 60 and epics, no where near as good as paladin/warrior combo though close.

It really wouldn't matter what classes you choose if you just stay in the forest killing boars.

how were you able to control to melee characters so that they would be inrange.. and be able to attack?? did you move them manually?? with the warrior/paladin combo..

I still think this is because of the classes that you chose. A warrior can have a hard time fighting mobs, but a priest does not (especially with a shadow spec, they can do a LOT that most classes cannot). That's why I tried to stress the point of combining two classes that have a harder time leveling to form a team that eradicates that issue with their combined skills.

I've only replaced a cape and a ring so far and I'm at level 65. I simply cannot justify killing one stat to raise another by a little bit. For example, one item may bump up my AP by 20, but it drops my crit by 1%. I'm a rogue with a mutilate build, and that's much more crit sensitive than a backstab built would be. So I need that delicate balance between the two. So right now I'm about 25% crit and 900 AP with 120 energy (still :p) and +5% chance to apply poisons (great for mutilate).

I've seen gear that I would replace my current stuff with. I know a friend of mine had a nice pair of blue BoE shoulders drop from a chest. I would've loved to swap my NS shoulders out for those, but I wasn't there :(. So far I've only taken the cape from the Coilfang Resevoir quest and some ring that gives +agil +stam and +ap (lost some +hit on using that one).

Mages are pretty self-sufficient once you get to level 20.

Definitely one of the best farming combos. Throw a mage in there too, and you've literally got a powerhouse. Mage/Paladin isn't a bad combination either, as they may not be able to shield, but BoP on a mage is just godly in some situations :p.

The only problem I'd see with this is possibly totem use. A good shaman will switch totems based on the situation and that could be hard if you're controlling two characters at once. Also, a paladin casting a seal and then judging and re-sealing is common while fighting. Paladins are machines and a half by themselves, it's just insane how powerful they can be.

I was having trouble with a quest last night in Shattrath City and I noticed a Paladin friend of mine was in the city. So I asked for his help and he had no trouble tanking a 66 elite (that hit me for 1000 and him for 500 a hit... with a fast hit rate) and two 66 non-elites at the same time. And he was 63 at the time! (Meaning the mob was an orange con to him).

Your priest PVP experiences probably would've been a bit easier if you were shadow (I'd assume you were holy/disc or disc/holy since you always played as a healer to the warrior). Although, my friend insists that her priest is better at PVP as disc/holy than shadow, I still disagree :p. Although, as an Alliance priest... shadow can be quite horrid when dealing with the droves of undead and their acursed Will of the Forsaken. An undead blacksmith fury warrior can have 5 fear removals (enough to make you immune). It may actually be 4 as I've never specced fury and I'm only assuming that Death Wish can bring you out of a fear (as I know it makes you immune for 30 seconds among other things)!

the paladin is not really a melee character - if setup right they're a healer, and better at it than priests.

i would play paladin as a priest, and use the warrior for melee

at low levels disc/holy was hard, and priest in general is hard but once we were 60 we were def better than if I had a shadow priest tag a long with me.

we rarely died - I just meant that if I had to level a priest again, I would do it on a PvE server.

Paladin is just so much easier to level on a PvP server with a warrior at hand.

caster classes in general are hard to dualbox because they require more input then most. warrior you can auto attack and build rage, rogue as a secondary still gets respectable damage even just auto attacking, hunters well... they are hunters.

shaman and paladin both auto attack, so that's fine. ATM I have the paly as primary, using seals etc... and the shaman whose weapon buffs last 30 minutes i use as a healer for the paly.

i'm pondering switching to druid/shaman. But i'm not sure yet ;)

I'm leveling up a priest now. When he gets to 40, I'll get another account and dual box so I can take a toon on the other account through the deadmines, stockades, and wailing caverns, over and over again so that player can get all of the BoP gear and be a level 19 twink in the BG's.

How that works is, the twink pulls and gets killed. The Priest clears the pull and resurects the twink. That way, the twink can loot, but doesn't get any experience points, so he doesn't level up beyond twinkdom.

Also, the priest escorts the twink around the world and helps with quests that are too strong for the twink.

Paladins are really weird when it comes to their damage. Just like a warrior or a (elemental) shaman, they require good gear for either damage build and their builds are almost like a warrior or an elemental shaman where they focus more on melee or a hybrid of spell casting and weaker melee.

They can definitely heal well though, and with their talent that restores their mana used when the heal crits, if they have the right healing gear, they are incredibly mana efficient. In a clutch situation, a Paladin may not be better than a Priest when it comes to healing. A priest's heal will heal for more and Power Word: Shield absorbs all damage (albeit has a set amount) where Blessing of Protection is limited to physical damage. One aspect of their healing that I've always liked was Judgement of Light... you can't beat being on a boss with an AoE and having JoL as a dagger spec rogue.. you barely lose any health :p.

Yeah, it's really going to be, because the talents that help your survival are near the bottom of the tree. However, Shadow has helpful talents at the top like Spirit Tap, Improved Shadow Word: Pain, Mind Flay, etc. Just talking about it makes me want to level my priest, but my rogue's only 66!

I was thinking about it but the BC expansion has sort of resparked my interest in wow.
Last night while leveling my rogue Adrenaline Rush bugged out so I was getting a constant 40 energy a tick even after death. Played for about 3 hours like this and it was amazing. I didnt want to log out :(

I wish I knew. I have seen similar bugs with Coldblood and my druids Natures Swiftness, but neither lasted as long and stayed as consistent.

I've been trying out the whole dual-boxing in WoW thing and let me tell you... it's akin to pimping, 'cause it ain't easy :Q! I originally started by using my desktop to open 2 WoW sessions... one on each monitor. That wasn't too bad, but sometimes it'd get a tiny bit slow. Then I tried my desktop + my laptop, but my laptop isn't exactly the paragon of gaming, but it still served its purpose. Now, I think I'm going to try my desktop + my media server and use my ATi Remote Wonder 2 and VNC to control the other account. Nothing like Pressing 'A' on the remote to heal myself ;).

Oh and I'm not playing same level characters at all. I'm using my 70 Rogue to do all my elite quests and solo instances for me :p. Although, I'm a bit worried trying to do things like Sunken Temple for my Shaman as all the small guys may prove to be too much for a rogue (mutilate specced) to control.

Maybe I should dual-box my priest and warrior up to 70 first, then use my warrior in Sunken Temple and BRD.
