If Mantle was open why deny Intel early access? Mantle will die without Intels support.Intel chose dx12 not mantle. That was AMD undoing. MICROSOFT comes in and says we made the better API because they all support it.

I can't parse what the rep is saying by applying logic.
"Mantle has no obvious benefits, we don't know much about Mantle, DX12 being a lower level API has obvious benefits. "
I think this guy is full of crap claiming not to know much about Mantle. If he actually doesn't know much of anything about it, then don't make yourself look stupid by saying it offers little benefit. He knows exactly what it's all about but to save corporate face won't say anything postiive but will do so when talking about DX12, which he knows full well seeks to do what Mantle does.
Yup i agree that is a lie but AMD is also full lie where they mentioned that R9 290X will beat GTX 780 TI and titan significantly in 2013.Now there stance is completely changed towards Mantle because it wont benefit High End rigs and maybe only 5 fps difference which dont even matter.

That day AMD decided the fate of Mantle and it will be RIP by Dx12 end of stroy.

So apparently you realize I never said anything you claimed I did.

The thread is about nVidia's official stance on Mantle. Why don't we just stick to that?
I'll quote it again:

So it appears that they are going to forego Mantle and wait for DX12. The interesting part is the claim, it’s not so clear to me that there is a lot of obvious benefits there, but them seeing these benefits for DX12.

Allrighty then.

Source.??
This somehow missed my reading material.

BTW 290X did beat Titan & 780, it lost to 780Ti & Titan Black.
Neither of which were available when 290X came out.

Also, the benefit of MANTLE is Higher minimum fps, not higher maximum fps.

AMD should abandon mantle now. AMD should focus on dx12 because they dont have the resources to support both API.

That is not by definition a open source as AMD claims mantle is. Intel has far more resources than AMD. Intel onboard would guarantee it becomes a standard in the industry.

Nobody claimed 'open source', Mantle is an open standard.
intel's resources? lol intel don't give a rat's as_ about gamers, and we've seen what happens when intel gets 'on board' something, just look at OLPC. intel wouldn't have a clue about how to develop a new low level graphics API, they best leave that to the PROs.

how do you know that they dont have the resources?
Mantle do not provide any Graphic or visual Improvement where as Dx12 will over Dx11 and this claimed by MS,Nvidia and AMD.

That is why Mantle cannot survive and why Developers will waste time, money and man works when Dx12 will provide same or better features with visual improvement where as mantle cannot.

you could be right about that , we'll see in 2016-17 when dx 12 games are out.

Of course Mantle gives graphic and visual improvements. Smoother frame delivery for one. The ability to support more draw calls while maintaining higher frame rates.

Can give me the prof where it give graphic and visual improvement.Only fps increase for low and mid range PC user nothing more than that which was claimed in Feb 2014.

My gripe with mantle is AMD denied an industry giant partnership. You failed in that respect. YOU would be in a excellent position if you let Intel help develop mantle. AGAIN AMD FAILS.
