I found out today that there is an employee assitance program for stuff like this, i' think i'm gonna give it a try. i've tried too many times to stop on my own, but once 8 pm rolls around i just give up and fix a drink
EAPs (Employee assistance programs) are a fantastic resource, if you need any help, I don't qualify as a sponsor yet in NA (Narcotics Anonymous the program is similar but not the same as AA) but drop me a PM, unfortunately I can't get on the internet often where I am but when I can I'll offer words of support for you. It also helps to get a sponsor, someone you can call day or night that will pick up the phone and talk it out with you...I wish you the very best, and stick with it, you can do it...one day at a time.
also, not to give you an excuse to keep (ab)using but relapse is extremely common, very few can actually quit the first time they try, don't beat yourself up, get back on the horse and try again...
Depends on the person, the Bible says do not be unequally yoked, meaning people should be at the same place in their walk with God before they are together. Since the OP isn't even a Christian that is a problem for her (form what I gather from the OP).
