let me tell you how messed up i am. my body is supposedily set up for fatty foods, it hates carbohydrates, and then, i become addicted to alcohol, so i drink a little and pass out (it runs in the family - dad, granddad, 2 uncles, etc). alcohol is nothing but liquid carbs, so i gain 30lbs and gain 3 chins and go from a 8 to a 3.

but i drink because i'm lonely on the weekends, but to stop drinking and get unlonely i need a girlfriend, but to get a girlfriend, i need to lose weight, which means stop drinking, catch 22. the girl i want to be with (and have wanted to be with for 4 years) is beautiful and christian, and yet i'm agnostic, confused, and addicted to alcohol. i hate my life.

wow you should.... stop drinking?
Also, stop obsessing over a girl and just ask the chick out. 4 years is a long time of not knowing.

Easier said than done. the girl wants to go out but she loves god.

I try to stop during the day, but at night I get this feeling that I "need" to drink.

1/2 bottle, huh? Stop drinking now, or it will only get worse. You'll get to the point where you'll start thinking that if I stop drinking, I'll go crazy from withdrawl. So you'll drink more, withdrawl more, drink more, withdrawl more .......

wait would that be a 375ml or 750ml bottle?

If ti's 750ml i think you might want to slow down.

Also, get out of the house to somewhere where drinking socially is fine, clubs, bars, etc.

Drinking at home lonely is fine for a little while, i think everyone's done it but its time to meet some new women.

AA is free, one-on-one therapy isn't, unless you have insurance that covers it.

I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield, that should cover it?

It's the $40 bottle of Grey Goose, bigger than the 750ml, not sure of the size.

Welcome to a downward spiral.

The only way to fix is to get out of the spiral and change course.

Listen, one on one therapy rarely works. You need to go to AA and stick with it. It's the best option.

I suppose - check your benefits. If you are covered, then talk to a counselor. Asking people at ATOT for advice will only make things worse :)
