That's an awesome price.

I've only flown mine 5 or 6 times but I only crashed it the first time I flew it.
If you follow/figure out the instructions it's a very easy quad to fly and quite tough.
The main problem is I just realized I want $1000 worth of gear for it. (GoPro gimbal, FPV transmitter with 7" LCD, and the on screen HUD module). All that weight means I need to find larger batteries and bigger props. More money!
Perhaps I can help you. *most* quads with gear you describe can only fly for 15 minutes at best. My modified Phantom 1 with dual batteries, (5600mah) can only realistically fly for 10 minutes. Mostly because of the added weight of the batteries, and that I always want to give myself a safety time zone. You DO NOT want to over discharge lipo batteries! Weight is your enemy with these smaller under $3000 craft. We're not talking ounces, we're talking grams! I have flown with a GoPro and just a basic mount, when my quad was stock, got some decent footage too. When I upgraded motors, and went to carbon fiber 9" props there was vibation, (jello), transmitted to the GoPro. This was solved with a very light weight $12 anti-jello mount with an extended plate to mount a VTX. PSA, going from the stock 8" props to 9" WILL de-stabilize the craft somewhat. She will have more thrust, more lift, be quicker, and faster but will not settle in/down as before. Kinda like turning the wheel sharply, or locking the brakes on your car at 60+ things just aren't as smooth. Another PSA, never just drop straight down, especially with these mods, you will be dropping into your own vortex and bad things will happen, been there, done that. Balancing the props is a key, so get a prop balancer! DUBRO is the best. Imo, gimbals are a waste of money, unless you are a pro/commercial photographer. they add A LOT of weight, and consume A LOT of battery. Also what vid is more enjoyable to watch, a craft flying through a canyon with a stabized cam, or not?
With regard to "HUD" lol, yo dude this isn't the Crysis game. OSD, basic *on screen display* comes with your monitor. True OSD modules with in depth info are often not plug n play, and are best utilized for LONG range craft. I have a VERY BRIGHT headlamp on my Phantom that I can see in daylight close to 300 yards away. Baring that,(loss of orintation), if I just throw the switch on my transmitter to *home lock* and no matter what way I pull the stick she will be coming back to me. I keep track of flight time/batteries with a simple small countdown clock with an alarm velco'ed to the transmitter, $4 @ Amazon. I have replaced the 80gram GoPro with a 18gram camera with low light capiblities, and a choice of 3 different lens's. For $100 you can get a low light, (IR) cam WITH 10x zoom, and you can control that zoom with the stock Phantom, but it weights nearly as much as the GoPro. My 7" monitor can record to a 32gb card built in. I can, from the monitor turn vid on/off or take screen shots, all weighing far less, and costing much less then you think.
Knowledge, and I are your friend, fly safe, and responsibly, and never, ever fly into Skykings back yard!
