Driving without Shoes

I usually do in the summer whilst I wear flip flops. Flip flops are too dangerous. My foot can handle like a dream.
 
I tend to only really do it in the summer when I'm wearing flip flop sandals. I feel more comfortable controlling with bare feet than I do with them sandals on.
 
I have done it before, but it was for a very brief period of time. I definitely would not do so if I have a choice.
 
I once tried to pee while driving, like, into a bottle, because I was trying to break my time record of driving from college to home. It didn't go so well.

Are you in Vegas posting about peeing in a bottle?
 
I did, until I had to remove the carpeting on the driver's side. If my car is parked on a slope when it rains, water comes in and pools under the pedals on the floor. It ruined the carpet, so I had to remove it. (If I park on level ground, no water gets in. 😕)
And since I now live in Erie, Land of Eternal Snow, it's not worth putting a small rug in there, as the floor never dries out anyway.

But I did prefer driving in bare feet. I felt like I had a much better grip (literally) on the controls that way.
 
I do this sometimes. Personally, I find that you have better pedal feel than with some shoes. Barefoot is way better than sandals or boots by far.

And yes, it is illegal here.
 
Better than with flip flops. Flip flops are dangerous. If anything that should be illegal. Same with women and heels.

On long drives I'll drive with my socks. You get a lot better control. Plus I dont want my feet sweating for 5 hrs.

I was sent here by myself 🙁 and I'm depressed about losing $240 so I decided to take the night off, especially after walking around til 2 am l ast night. I did order room service and it arrived on a fancy rolling table. Ohhhh.
 
I like driving barefoot because I drive a manual. You become one with the clutch. No herk-n-jerk for me!
