So my motherboard chipset drivers could effect my drivers not working? Well i went to my mb website and downloaded the chipset drivers
Particularly the AGP driver..yes.
I have been having problems with my computer rebooting and when restarts it says a device problem. And it started after switching from nvidia to ati. And the only drivers at the time was omega drivers that i could get to work. So i was going to try the real ati drivers.
Odd you couldn't get the ATI drivers to work. Seems like you have some issues with remnant driver files to me.
What would be the best way to fix the problem?
If drivercleaner won't remove your old NV and ATI drivers, I'm not sure, but I think I'd try again. Maybe you should go to driverheaven and download driver cleaner, maybe your version is fubured..it should be doing the job. If thats not it, and you've got your OS patched, and at SP1 and DX9b and your AGP driver up to date before you try to install the catalyst drivers...if thats all correct, I would suspect either an issue with the OS, or a hardware problem if it persists on a fresh install.
