I get SO ****** SICK of truck drivers whining about "but those people in cars need to know we take longer to stop" and then deliberately TAILGATING.
We shouldn't have as many truckers anyway. Too bad we didn't build up the rail infrastructure more and continue using it.
There's a fundamental flaw with the rail system. Only the railroad companies use it. This means that the rail companies pay 100% (true cost) of the system. Trucking companies pay only a fraction of the true cost associated with keeping roads in good condition. They get away with it because the average citizen uses the roads as well and demands that they exist.
Anyway, I very, very rarely see semi drivers doing anything they should not. They tend to stick to within 3 mph of the speed limit in Wisconsin. As many of you who drive across country know, the best place to be when driving is behind a semi on a long trip.
