Drive-Thru asks you to park, what do you do?

Are you sitting at the window right now?

I am sitting at home 🙂. But I honestly stopped "waiting" at problem Mcdonald's where I was left waiting about 10 minutes on multiple occasions. I now handle it on a case by case basis, and having worked in a burger joint in 2003, I feel that most of the time this is an excuse to not affect the overall score on the timers. Additionally sometimes I feel that once you agree to waiting they prioritize everything else, and get around to you when they can.

Case by case.

There was a McDonald's breakfast I ordered one time where I had been waiting in line for over 10 minutes after I had already ordered my food. They asked me to pull back around through the line and tell them I had already ordered and what I had ordered. I told them I would not do that and either wanted my money back or my food.

Every other time I've been asked it's because I've ordered something that they don't keep under heat lamps because it doesn't get ordered as much as the rest of their menu and I just say sure and pull up / park.

As far as I know, it's standard procedure at ALL McDonald's drive thu's to pull ahead and wait... every single time. One of the reasons I avoid them.

Of course I will park and wait for my 50 piece bucket 'O chicken nuggets, McD! It's late night and I gotta eat (ok, haven't done this since college).

I would explain the concept of a drive-thru to them, Seinfeld fashion, and further explained that I could have parked out front and walked in, if I wanted to park my car and wait.

Doesn't bother me at all. Certain items take longer to make. It doesn't make sense for me to hold up the line waiting for my food while they could be serving the people behind me immediately.

I'm gonna be parking anyway.

If I'm buying shit instant food its because its instant and I'm hungry and I want to eat right now.
If I go through the drive through I now have food... but I'm driving so I have to go and park somewhere to eat it. Like the MD's carpark.

I can't help but shake my head and wonder what some of you people do when you have _real_ decisions to make in life. How do some of you manage to even feed and bathe yourselves?

I park. There have been one or two times where I just didn't have time and asked for a refund. I know that took longer than it would have taken to park....but I was in a hurry.

I assume you're talking about if you're in the drive-thru and they ask you to pull forward while they get your food ready? There's a different answer than "pull forward and wait?"

park or go inside.

only ever seems to happen to me at my local Wendy's, when I order chicken nuggets. usually park and someone brings them out to my car a couple minutes later. I'm waiting either way, I don't want to hold up the entire drive-thru line just for my 5-piece order of nuggets.
