Drinking on the job

No, I am talking about actually sitting at your desk and drinking something with alcohol in it. If you haven't done it yourself then have you known someone at your job that does it? Sorry...bored@work-with-2hrs-to-go-post. I just woke up from a 5 minute nap at my desk and need something to do.

not like that,
but on st. Patricks day I lost pretty bad in beerpong and then i had to go work. That was fun...

At my job (after hours duty for an apartment complex of college student) I'd be fired immediately if I drank while on duty.

not when i was going into work. When i started working from home i would get a beer every now and then. Now that i don't work it don't matter!

Well, I do mystery shops in restaurants from time to time, so I acutally get paid to drink on the job. Getting drunk on the job is a different story...

When I worked in a grocery store years ago, we used to keep beer in the produce cooler and drink throughout the night.

Our RA used to drink with us.

When I was an RA, I let other people drink in my room. 😱

As for now, yes, often actually. We have "beer:thirty" every couple weeks on a Friday where we crack open some brews at our desk the last hour or two of the day.

When i was a busboy/dishwasher in a small italian restraunt when i was 17-20 we started hitting the tap around 8:30 and drank steady till 11-1130 when we (other kid who worked with me) left to go to parties and whatnot. We did it every night, the cooks and waitress' didnt care, they were tokin up.

I worked at my city's public swimming pool, and one day the lifeguards were drinking (among other things), while working their shift. i warned people to not come in that day....

I think most companies would fire you if they caught you drinking on the job, the key is not getting caught.

I've never done it. Well technically I had a sip of Mike's Hard Lemonade once, but only because I wanted to see how close it tasted to actual lemonade.

During some of my night classes that I have with Whitney, we'll go out to her car and take a shot or two of whatever liquor she has available :/

With my luck the instant I took even a sip of alcohol there'd be a fire alarm or someone'd get shot or something and I'd have to respond, and my boss and his boss would be there to supervise. It'd be grand. 😕

At a place I worked at years ago the Controller for the company would drink during work hours. In fact she kept a bottle of whiskey in her desk drawer and mixed it with pop. All you had to do was walk in her office and it smelled like alcohol. I'm still not sure why she didn't get fired, cuz everybody knew what she was doing. She was probably screwing the boss...

last week i had a beer next to my computer and the boss walks in and sees it. instead of asking wth are you doing drinking a beer during work hrs, he asked me where i got it from. i told him the fridge in the back and he quickly ran back there.
