In Europe most countires have their minimum drinking age at 18 years of age. Some countires like Austria and Germany allow 16 year olds to drink beer. Why is it 21 years in America? If you are 18 years old you are technically a adult. If you are an adult, why can't you drink alcohol? What if we changed it to 18? What do you all think?
 
Because if we let our 18 year olds drink alcohol America will descend into a spiral of amoral addiction and prostitution ultimately leading to the extinction of the human race

I think we should change it to 18, but I think more parents should practice corporal punishment on their children. We're sort of growing out of the "Love Child" generation of parents where psychologists believed beating children made them sociopaths or some nonsense. Thankfully new parents are getting a bit wiser.

Haha yeah right. I see 99% of parents with out of control children going "Honey, please don't do that". They need to be slapped (both the parents and the children).
 
The last thing we need is a bunch of ATOTers with CCW's getting drunk and driving their Ferraris at 120 mph in residential zones.
 
It used to be 18, and then like a week before my 18th birthday they changed it to 21, I would have been upset, except that summer we were in a small Louisiana town where the drinking age is something like 10.
 
It was 18 for a long time. I missed the cut off by about 3 years when they raised it to 21 again. You're moral and responsible enough to go to a foreign country and kill people when your 18, but not drink a beer 😵

Yeh then why do people drink Wine in Church? Or the Blood of Christ? Furthermore, minimum age to "purchase" alcohol in Italy and Vatican City is 16. But there is no minimum age to drink it! 😛
 
You know what's stupid? You can join the armed forces when you're 18, they'll give you a rifle and train you to kill, but don't you dare drink else punishment is harsh.

That's a pretty dumb thing to say. If you have had a brother, sister, daughter, son killed by some asshole who went on the road drunk, you'd be pretty fucking angry too.

Sad to say, a lot of the people I know whose relatives were killed by drunk driving were done so by minorities. AceMcMc's case is the only exception I know of.

A quick smack every now and again isn't going to permanently damage any child.
 
I don't think it matters what age it's at. Look at all the stupid fucks that are OF AGE, and get arrested for DUI, vehicular manslaughter, etc, etc.

Age means nothing. Personal responsibility does. By 21, you're supposed to be responsible enough to handle alcohol. There's no perfect legal age for drinking. But 21 is probably better than 18.

Yes, drinking and driving is another story. Drinking and driving is bad and dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone.


Though its been proven countless times that texting and driving is much more dangerous but its legal.
