This is why I don't even feel bad if I pirate. Even if I want to pay, it's still not good enough for them. They always want more.

Don't get me started on the ridiculousness of laws that say you can't watch certain sports programs on a TV bigger than 55" or w/e, or not allowed to invite more then a certain amount of people over. Freaking retarded.

Copyright/IP laws nowdays is nothing but a tool of greed. It's no longer fulfilling it's original purpose of protection creators of content.

Wonder what the response would be if he had just said:

4k rips: $15
1080p rips: $4
Mobile rips: $2

Same premise...less hate. It's not really much different than any other distribution service charging more for higher quality/less compressed content.

You'd be getting a different quality of product that way. (VHS, DVD, or Blu-Ray?)
If I have a 1080p copy of it, I can pay for it once, and play it on a device of my choosing.

This plan sounds like the dream of the music industry: Buy one copy of the song for your portable player, one for your computer, one for your laptop, and one for your car.

Or pay-per-listen.

Or pay-per-listen * volume level * speaker/headphone output rating = $$$$$

It's not the size that matters... it's how you use it that counts.

Hope they get the contract figured out with Comcast before they start tagging prices on it.

I find a lot of digital distribution pricing ridiculous. Why rent a movie on Amazon for $4.99 when I can get the blu-ray at Redbox for $1.50? They charge us for convenience... we should be charging them for the convenience of stealing our money.
