I haven't heard of any official word about the sequel, and that blog doesn't confirm it either. But the way the story ended, opened new plotlines... and the only reason why anybody would do that, is if they wanted to raise anticipation for a sequel. I'll also bet the final sequel will be mostly from Kian perspective (not a big surprise really, especially if you've finished the game).
He said that even if he couldn't make another game he'd release the story in written form. How much more official can you get?

A Funcom press release.

Hmm. I picked up Dreamfall but did not play TLJ yet. Should I go back and play TLJ first? What year was TLJ released in? I think my ex played it

Personally i think you should. More than half the characters you meet in the game are from TLJ, and you're not going to get all the humor unless you've played the first one... or the contrast between the characters in the first TLJ and DF. TLJ was a better game as well (not saying DF sucked, because it was awesome too).

Bringing this back from the dead... just finished it. Damn that was good, though the ending is unsatisfying (what end to a good game is EVER satisfying?)

Really it does what the middle of a trilogy (i'm assuming they'll be a third) always does... it has it's own interests, but largely exists to set up the third.

Very cinematic in that sense.

definitely play the first one if you can. it would make the second one that much more enjoyable.

JUST got my limited edition yesterday! But I didn't mind the wait because I've already got way too many games to play.

I havn't really looked at it that much. But it is a small white box (sort of like dvd set cases) with a slideout DVD case and hardcover book. The hardcover art book is extremely well done. I also got 3 artwork 'cards' and one of them looks like it is signed. Not sure what else, really nice though, I spent some time reading the art book yesterday because it has lots of writing in it from the people who worked on the game.
