Anyone get it yet? I'm planning on picking it up tomorrow, and hopefully i'll get a chance to play soon... If you haven't played the first Longest Journey, go pick it up now! It is, without exaggeration, one of the best adventure games ever made.

I started yesterday. Great game so far, the controls took a bit getting use to. Puzzles seems much simpler than the first one, but the story is fantastic.

The only issue i've had... wasn't even mine, but a friend of mine. She had to uninstall Alcohol to get the game to work.

You definitely want to play TLJ to really enjoy Dreamfall... i don't think i would enjoy it nearly as much as i am without the TLJ experience and background. April is in the game, and you do play her, and unless you want to be confused or lost as to what's happening in Mercuria (the manual covers some of it), you really should play TLJ... besides, it's great seeing the difference between TLJ and Dreamfall (you go to the same areas, except there's a 10 years difference).

Fantastic so far. I lovedTLJ so much it's ridiculous, and this is living up to it quite nicely for me.

From the user reviews I've read, the story is great until the ending which is apparently a non-ending.

Does this one still have the adult tone that TLJ did, or has it been cleaned up for the Xbox kiddies? I remember the lesbian character and profanity-vomiting hacker.

So does this mean the first one is no longer the longest journey? Just a pretty long one?

Okay, insert 'Final' Fantasy joke here please.

LOL absolutely no cleaning up at all, at least for the PC version. At times, i think they tried too hard to be 'adult' with things like a tavern called 'the Cock and Puss'. I was playing at work, and people were shocked that there was so much cursing in a game.

amm for all you newbies :! play the 2nd game before you play the 1st one :! you will enjoy it more that way : )

It took me 9hrs to finish : ) finished the game in 3 quick session at work on big plasma tv.

I do also recommend the XBOX version because of better controls : ) but if you got you want see better graphic then turn to pc version.

Totally all about the PC version... this is half the reason I upgraded to a 7900GT!

Well, i just finished it... and WOW, the story is absolutely amazing. Not much gameplay after chapter 6... you're pretty much just clicking your way through an amazing story. The ending does have HUGE HUGE cliffhangers, but i'm assuming they're going to finish this trilogy with another sequel (if not, i'm sending them a mailbomb).

Wow, i can't believe how the story ended. Simply stunning. Hopefully it won't take 7-8 years for the next sequel... heck, i'm not impressed at all with the graphics (and a little disappointed), but i would take a sequel using this same engine and graphics as long as they finish the story! I use to say how TLJ would be so awesome as a big fat novel... but i take that back, this is the perfect medium to tell the story.

You should probably play the first one before playing the 2nd... soooo many of the characters from the first one makes an appearance, and the significance of them will really be lost on you (and thus the appreciation) if you haven't played the first one.

man this game rocks. it's just my kind of game, minimal repetitive gameplay, but massive amount of plot. it's like an interactive novel/movie (a good one at that). great story (as far as I can tell at chapter 5), great voice acting/music, and the graphics look very nice maxed IMO.

Excellent news. I hope the maxed out graphics don't require a minimum of 7800/X1800 hardware. I usually do 1280x1024 on my X800 XT.

while I enjoy reading novels, there's something to be said about a great story that's also a complete multimedia experience. like a movie, but much longer and requires user interaction which enhances immersiveness. and of course every story is unique.

anyway the review wasn't kidding about the ending. very little is resolved and even more things are raised; these aren't even your normal cliff hangers, these are huge gaping holes... they're definitely setting up for a sequel. that seriously is frustrating because whether or not they do it is completely up in the air given how uhh "different" this game is, and even if they do it'll probably be a while...

I had MAXED out graphics on my 6800Go Ultra at 1920x1200, and it was fine. It's an adventure game, you don't need 50+ fps (i don't know what the actual fps was... fraps didn't seem to want to display the fps for some reason... but it was smooth as butter).

I haven't heard of any official word about the sequel, and that blog doesn't confirm it either. But the way the story ended, opened new plotlines... and the only reason why anybody would do that, is if they wanted to raise anticipation for a sequel. I'll also bet the final sequel will be mostly from Kian perspective (not a big surprise really, especially if you've finished the game).

He said that even if he couldn't make another game he'd release the story in written form. How much more official can you get?
