The DRD4 gene is a very interesting gene. If you have the normal variant of this gene, you are a well adjusted person who also happens to tend to be conservative and will not cheat on your significant other.

However, if you have one of the abnormal variants, you tend to be a liberal or tend to cheat on your significant other. An abnormal variant also tends you make you an alcoholic or addicted to gambling.

No.

Risk taking behavior is responsible for civilization. Keep your dirty fingers out of our genome.

Then your average republican would be well adjusted, and this isn't the case. They're largely narcissistic greedy individuals with a severe lack of human empathy and critical thinking ability.

If you believe that to be true, it's probably because of your faulty genetics...

That's as stupid as saying your average democrat is a pot smoking homosexual. You're an idiot, and part of why this country is going to shit.

Are you saying prominent republicans aren't self centered? Or are you trying to refute the scientific evidence that they lack empathy. Or do you ignore their own movements to put down the whole idea of critical thinking? That modern republicans have become a caricature of themselves is not my fault.

You didn't say prominent Republicans. You said average Republicans.

And if you believe that prominent Republicans are any greedier than prominent Democrats, you're blind.

Read my first post smarty. The ones we see prominent are the prominent ones. OMG expecting reading comprehension! So what if democrats are also greedy that doesn't change my post.

I've noticed a contradiction in your post. You reference the concepts of "well-adjusted" and "conservative" as if they can occur simultaneously. However data collected over the past 10 years (Boehner, Romney, Palin, Issa, Bachmann, the entirety of Fox News, ATP&N) has proven that to be impossible, or at the very least highly unlikely and statistically occurring even more rarely than in person voter fraud which is the least committed crime in this country.

The OP engages in a logical fallacy which, incidentally, is not present in either of his linked sources.

He assumes if A correlates with B, and A also correlates with C, then B correlates with C. Assume A is the gene in question, B is promiscuity or whatever bad behavior the OP wants to attribute to liberals, and C is liberalism. Since the gene merely increases the probability of these traits rather than guaranteeing them, its correlation with these traits doesn't guarantee the traits correlate with each other.

Fortunately there is a much better way to determine if liberals are more likely than others to be promiscuous, impulsive, addictive, whatever. You do a study sampling liberals and non-liberals, and record various aspects of their personalities and lifestyles. Always easier to measure something directly rather than try to infer it from an indirect correlational link through a third variable.

These studies and Moonbeam's studies are all garbage. Well, maybe not the studies, but the erroneous conclusions drawn from them. At least there is one against both sides now...
