For some reason my shower clogged up. Figured it was due to long hair (roommates + girls showering). Bought some drano, and it still hasn't cleared up? WTF? Time for me to call a plumber or anyone have any ideas? No one's stuck anything down the drain or anything.

It's gotten to the point where it won't drain water anymore =(

I've had good results with the "liquid snake" product that reacts and foams inside the drain pipe. Make sure that the drain is clear of water (wait an hour or however long seems necessary) before using, so that the chemicals aren't diluted.

May need to have it snaked. It only takes a professional about 5-10 minutes - very worth it IMO.

Well I give you props for not trying to edit it out. Not that it would have matter, given the number of quotes anyway. :D

man only problem is that it's not freaking draining. I just came back home from the weekend and I guess my roommate took a shower and now it's not draining (Just a little bit). I'd take a pic, but it's pretty nasty.

I never realized how dirty the water got after someone took a shower coz it's always drained RIGHT AWAY!!!! DARN THIS!!

I have another shower in the house so it's no biggy, but it's just annoying. Has anyone ever tried drano crystals?

Drano won't always work on nasty hair clogs, since it doesn't totally dissolve the hair. Some stronger stuff will, but it's dangerous to handle and will burn you if you're not careful. Go to HD and get either a snake or some stronger solution, it'll fix ya right up.

Just take off the drain cover and fish it out with a coat hanger. If you can't get it all call a plumber.

Most likely it is just hair in the opening. Take a screw driver and take off the drain guard and all the hair is probably sitting there on the crossover.

if the other drains are working properly i wouldnt call a plumber.
they make something like draino but its based on acid.
stuff will eat anything biological in nature.. works really good..really strong.
u can get it from ace, hd, lowes, etc.
dont let it sit too long in the trap tho cause it will make the joints swell and even leak.
15 minutes tops...then rinse with COLD water... hot water will make a chemical reaction you dont want to happen. :p

I wish it was this easy T_T.

I've already taken the covers off. I'm just wondering if it could be something else other then hair?

I've lived with girls (sisters and stuff) and i've never had a shower clog also. I'm gonna try a snake tomorrow, but I was hoping for just a go to "wal-mart buy a liquid" type solution

professional plumbers charge an arm and a leg, doesn't matter if it only takes them 5-10 minutes. You'd think with the rates they change they could afford some pants that fit
