OH right...James Marsters is playing Piccolo. Marsters of course became semi-famous by playing the vampire Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But he still looks closer to Nosferatu than King Piccolo from the original DragonBall comic/cartoon.

I think the budget of this movie (other than the very likely outrageous actor salaries) will be under $9,000.
 
Looks terrible, though to be honest I never really understood why everyone had such a hardon for Dragonball in the first place.

edit: I saw Kung Fu Hustle for the first time a couple of months back. The fight scenes at the end of the movie (starting with the two assassins using a music instrument through to the final fight) made me think, "Yeah, I can see Stephen Chow doing a Dragonball movie." but this does look pretty bad indeed.

He looks sortof like a Narn from Babylon 5...

and yes, he should be green...

and the reason why DBZ was so popular is because there was not much to understand per episode. Basically turn it on... watch Goku stand there constipated going "AaaaAARRRRRRHHHHHHHhhHHHHhHHHHH" for 15 minutes, then watch him say "I'm hungry" and down 20 bowls of noodles, and wait for Bulma to come on so people could oogle her. It's kindof like little kid porn in a sense I guess.

Thankfully I grew up and actually met women instead.
