My rogue is using two Main-hand weapons: Imperial Edge. They look badass, and have two enchantment slots on them. I put lightning runes on each and they look wicked. :) They drop off the goons in the Elven Alienage.

BTW... is there a way to
get Leilana to hook up with my female main character? It's obvious she's a raging lesbian, especially by the end game dialogue.

Well, she's not, actually. Just flexible. I was under the impression the approach was exactly what you'd expect. Be nice and eventually ask.

Also: there are some useful mods out there for DA - what are ya'll using?

Currently, I'm using 2. One is a respec mod, and TBH it's very likely classifiable as a cheat.

This one though - http://www.damods.com/forums/index.php?topic=89.0 - Easily most useful add on for Dragon Age out there. All it does is pop up messages on quest rewards/pickpocketing, that tells you exactly what you got.

Is the respec mod the one with the ravens? I have that installed, used it once but then ended up creating a new character anyway.

why do you say its a cheat? i like being able to change my spec if i make a mistake or take a worthless skill, etc.

Yes, the one with the ravens.

It's a cheat because it can be used as such. You're really not supposed to be able to completely respec your NPCs. While that's exactly what I used it for, I've no doubt in my mind that I shouldn't be able to remove all Lelliana's bow skills and make her into a much more effective dual wield melee rogue.

More tellingly, it can be used, quite effectively, to achieve maximum crafting potential without significant investment. Respec, put all the points you need into a craft skill, craft, respec back. Works on a couple of quests too, where you need a particular skill.

Now I certainly ain't going to get all righteous about it - like I said, I use it myself. But any way you look at it, it's changing fundamental rules of the game. It's a cheat like that - not a god mode level cheat, but a cheat all the same.

K so I'm a fair way into the game now I think. I just
finished the mage circle and finished in the redcliffe castle
and I'm still using pretty much the same weapons and armor I started off with. I'm not finding anything, and I never have any where near the amount of money I need to buy something.

i never even thought of it that way. I just used it to change my main character's spec once. haven't used it on my new character though.

Side quests help; grabbing all the junk weapons and armor and sellig to a merchant is also useful. You want backpacks for that.

Ya I started doing some in the main city. Made some solid dough. Why did they use this retarded money system with the gold, silver and bronze. Why couldn't they just do it the simple way like everybody else?

What's a backpack? Can you buy them and they let you carry more stuff? I haven't really had a problem with carrying capacity yet.

I wish it would tell you how much something is worth when you find it. And there's a real lack of unique weapons.

Hold right click on an item and release over the upper icon (inspect). This doesn't give you exactly how much an item will sell for but it at least gives a relative value. You should be running out of storage space, if only to sell things :p.

One Tip.... the best time to get a backpack is right before you head into the Kokari Wilds for the fist time (around lvl 3). The merchant at the castle sells backpacks for like 50 silver, or something silly cheap. They get progressively more expensive throughout the course of the game.

Actually, IIRC the next backback is 7g50 at camp the first time you go - and all the rest I saw are close to that price.

I think you can actually buy that one twice - once before you go into the wilds, and once when you come back. And I'm fairly certain you can buy a third in Lothering.

I've never seen one for less than 7 gold. even if you buy one, it goes away and you can't buy more.

hell, i don't think you can even make 50s that soon in the game, can you?

What are all the "X"s for on my minimap? I see them all over the place and sometimes they are there for something important, but a lot of the time I see them and there is nothing there.

My first play though was money starved as I was learning the system. My second play though had more money then I could even being to spend, due to knowing what was worth keeping to sell, and what I actually needed to buy vs what I would find later.

Yeah, im definitely finding out that in the begining, i bought too many armors/weapons incrementally.

I completed this game on easy simply because I was totally unmotivated to enjoy the game, because the plot was so goddamn predictable.

My guesses while playing vs actual results. I'm honestly not making this up.

Human noble: Castle gets destroyed and will join Grey Wardens - Correct
Ostagar: Ostagar gets destroyed and King will die - Correct
1st appearance of dragon: Final boss and will die at end - Correct
Before even starting the game: Go to 3-5 different locations then final showdown - Correct

Hire better writers please, Bioware. And the load times in Orzammar nearly put me off playing.

It's the same reason I could never get into counter strike. Such a predictable plot. (Terrorists win)

None of those are exactly what I'd call ESP level guesses. It's not quite as bad as playing an FPS and being annoyed that you guessed you'd shoot people before playing, but it's close.
