Save before you mess with any Glass Phylactory's early in the game.
Definitely seconded, absolutely, and especially so from the Normal difficulty, because it can be dealt with relatively safely on Easy... but from Normal the difficulty goes sky high, unless the party consists of three Mages and some formidable tank character, of course.
There are already multiple threads on this...
Thanks for the tip about Elfroot at the Dalish camp. I've only just been there for the first time so I'll need to take care offirst.the werewolves
Question with a SPOILER WARNING:
Is there any way to deal with Redcliffe where Conner and the mother are both ok? I didn't want to kill Conner and thought I was folowing a quest instruction that would not kill the mother by going to the circle of mages, but it killed the mother anyway. And then Allistaire got all pissy about it later with like -24 to his favor.
While I'm at it, what are all the 'lyrium veins' in the fade for? They don't seem to do anything when I click them.
Did anyone else find a need to use custom tactics to get npc's to drink health and mana potions when they get low? Mine were just getting killed or standing around out of mana until I added tactics.
Is there any way to get the revenrend mother to let you have stem(?) if you don't have coercion (and I don't care to get her upset with threats anyway)?
Continuation of spoiler question)
On Redcliffe, maybe it's because I went to Redcliffe first? I don't remember seeing anythig at the circle of mages about the Redclioffe siituation.
You don't have to do the tower before Redcliff to save both. The option comes up after Jowan suggests using his blood magic, if you refuse to let him use blood magic. Even if it doesn't, I'd expect as long as you don't actually initiate the ritual using Jowan's magic or kill the child, Morrigan will mention it if you ask her about it in camp.
My main was a warrior and getting my healing mage LATE in the game was a mistake. If/when i replay she will be the first addition.
Neither. The manual is adequate and there are tons of in game tips. But the game is enormous in scope and there is a lot to learn. It's easy to miss things.Based on the type and number of tips in this thread, I can conclude one of two things:
1. The manual and in game demo/training are shit.
2. The manual and in game demo/training are excellent, but people choose to ignore them because they are stupid bastards.
So, which is it?
Can't stand her..
so i've played up to Ostagan as each class and I guess I prefer the warrior class. I always play warriors in RPG games though and I want to play something else, but I get slaughtered with the other classes.
Maybe its because I'm still in the beginning but when I played the mage and the rogue, the enemy always attacks me, so I can't get behind him or stay back and cast spells.
No. All items, unless equipped, are placed in a pool for all characters to use.
Dragging a potion from this pool onto multiple characters item bars (quick use) will take a potion from the same stack when used.
-edit- If you have a chest you want to only place X number of items from a stack in, press the shift key while click & dragging the item. -reedit- or it does it automatically, I forget.
Also note there are simple small mods that will add a chest to your main camp so you do not need the wadren's keep DLC to have a chest to store items in. I used this one http://social.bioware.com/project/463/
The problem with picking Warrior is that there are three warriors (and two pseudo-warriors, Dog and Shale) in this game, while there are only two mages and two rogues. That's a 5:2:2 ratio, which is HORRID.
