I haven't picked up DAO yet, but... if the story is a good one then I usually don't mind more 'linear' gameplay. But when I don't feel like linear, I log in to my favorite MMO (Everquest II)
I would have said not enough dialogue. I'm enjoying the game, but there are too many long stints of nothing but combat. You finish one long stint of combat that drained all your health poultices and other materials only to turn right into another one in the very next part of the quest.
