Is there a way to see the level for a certain area? I went to do the swamp missions, but the mobs are lvl 12 and I'm only 8 or so. I couldn't find a way to see the level for the zone. I saw a level on some of the main quests, such as saving the templars, but not on the smaller quests or zones.

No there isn't. When you unlock an area it will say "recommended level XX-XX" but that's all I've ever found.

I still need to pick this game up. Hoping it's on the Holiday Steam sale list.

Man, I've become such a cheap ass. haha. But, not like I have the time to even get through my back log.

First world problems.
It's worth every penny two me. I have no problem that I paid full price.

I keep getting lost in this game. I'll go do a quest and then I'll find another quest and just end up traveling all over the place. The only one I can't seem to complete is the witchood apostate one. I end up getting killed there a lot and I'm only level 5 so far.

That's whats so good about this game, you get lost because there's so much to see and do. None of the side quests were boring either really. They all had some unique party banter or interesting reasoning that fleshed out the world.

Yup I've been playing for over 8 hours and I have not even done the second mission yet lol.

When do you start picking up additional party members in this game. I'm about 12 hours in, and still in the Hinterlands. I'm still stuck with Cassandra, Solas, and Varric.

Leave the Hinterlands to progress the story and pick up more companions. You can always come back later.

I did some of the quests in hinterlands and was able to pick up another two mages. One is the lady by the castle that asks you to close the rifts and another is upstairs in that castle after you do a quest for him..I'm also still in hinterlands and I'm having trouble getting the one rift by the druffalo quest.

I know that rift you are talking about. Not trying to beat a dead horse, but that rift in particular is, I believe, a sign that it is time to move to another area. If you see demons coming out of the rift that are above your current level then leave it and come back when you are stronger. I had to get myself out of the mindset of needing to 100% finish every zone before moving on to the next one. The game really isn't designed that way and in fact you will get quests throughout the game that require you to jump back and forth between zones anyhow.

Yea your probably right, but don't the enemies soft scale to your level too?

None, that's why my whole group got two hit killed by the Dragon in the Hinterlands. You definitely need to leave to other places and come back to the higher level sections of one's you previously visited.

That sounds good. I think I'll do the druffalo quest then move on. I just end up doing quest after quest because of the breadcrumbs in this game. I end up traveling and exploring all kinds of places and I've never gotten bored. I do say the equipping of your team and dealing with the inventory is a bit annoying but the game itself is so good.

Not everyone you meet and recruit is a party member. Some of them are just informants or spy's that you can get war table quests from/for. It may not always be obvious at times either. I recall a few interesting characters who became assets but didn't join the party.

LOL, same just happened to me. 😀

Time to move to the Storm Coast and Fallow Mire.

Any recommendations on console vs PC? This was the one game I wanted for Christmas, but didn't get it. Appears Amazon has it for $39 for the PS4/XB1 and Origin the same on PC.

So what is everyone's */10? This is the only game I've considered picking up recently. Keep in mind I haven't played any of the others. Should I give them a shot first?

That's what I paid for it for ps4. I like playing with a controller and you should be able to on the PC as well. Although not a big difference in graphics to justify the PC.

I would give it a 8/10 so far, but I have not finished it yet and am still early. Its a pretty amazing game in terms of things to do.

I heard a lot of preference for control which is why I'm contemplating this decision. Guess I'll just order it from Amazon or see if Best Buy can price match.

If best buy price matches and you have gcu, you can save even more. I would not mind paying full price for this game though, its completely worth it. The amount of time spent doing quests and wandering around, makes it worth it. The quests are interesting too they aren't your basic rpg quests. But you can use a controller with either platform and that's how I prefer to play third person games like this.

I got it on PC and it runs really well and looks great. Personally i would do PC because you can crank the visuals up above the ps4/xb1. It plays exactly the same on pc with a ps4 or xb1 controller as it does on console.

The difference is very huge graphically when you run it on ultra everything and antialiasing.

A solid 9/10 for me. Some things didn't feel right with the story, like things i tried to do didn't work to change the outcome and things happened that were way out of left field in the epilogue. The game was amazing otherwise.

I got 'Dragon Age Inquisition' last night, for the PS4.

What I heard around the web before buying the game, seemed mostly true.... except for the graphics. They were better than expected...

I mean I keep hearing that Inquisition on PC/PS4/Xbox One has "last gen" visuals, but I thought they were rather nice. I've played enough RPGs on the PS3 (Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma, Skyrim, Tales of Xillia, and many others) to know what last gen visuals actually looked like, and Inquisition looks far ahead of anything you could have played on a PS3 or Xbox 360. The lack of pop-in, texture quality, Level of Detail, lighting engine, and 1080p resolution, just wouldn't have been even remotely possible.

They're certainly comparable to what we've seen on PC years ago, but this is definitely the best looking I've seen an RPG on a console so far.... I'm not sure what people's expectations were.

Looking forward to playing more after work.
The graphics did seem a bit weak to me on the PS4 compared to what they should be, but as you mention the lack of pop-in and view distance and some of the lighting and vegetation and all that are not possible on last gen. And it is the best looking RPG so far in current gen, but then it's not got much competition, either 🙂

I'm only 4-5 hours in. Game seems very large.
I don't believe they do in this game.
THANK GOD for that.

Been trying to play on ps4 but it won't let me since psn is down. All I want to do is play single player but it can't connect to the dragon age servers.

They don't have any offline mode on console? I remember on pc if my connection dropped for some reason it would just not have synced my local save to the server and would ask me if i wanted to use the local save or the cloud save.
