Dragon Age 2 has gone gold . . . Will you be buying it?

Yes.

I buy every Bioware game (the only except will be the upcoming MMO)

I am disappointed that they are copying a lot of Mass Effect elements, though...

Nope, I'm tired of buying Bioware's reskins of the same exact game they've been making for a decade.

If you've played KOTOR, KOTOR2, Jade Empire, ME, Dragon Age, ME2, they're all the exact same thing with a different skin. I've jumped off this particular merry-go-round.

haven't finished DA 1 yet. frankly I felt underwhelmed by this franchise - it seems to lack the depth of their D&D games.

I just picked up DA:O Ultimate Edition, so I'll probably be getting DA2 around the time DA3 comes out.

And actually, still have to finish ME2 before I start DA.

Not til I see how the reviews go. If it's totally dumbed down and turned more into an action game with dialogue than an RPG then forget it.

No. Few reasons
1. It looks like a water down version of DAO from what I've seen so far.
2. $60 MSRP, granted can get it for cheaper from some places still BS.
3. More then likely it is going to have a bunch of DLC like DAO
4. Waiting for GOTY version and Steam sale and pick it up cheap in the future.

I couldn't get into the first dragon age or even mass effect 1. There's something about the interminable amount of time you spend staring at NPC faces and choosing from a selection of responses that aren't different in any way other than to portray your character as good/neutral/nasty that sours the whole experience for me. I hate the dialog portions so bad that I keep quitting both games for months at a time. Now I've played and enjoyed plenty of in-depth RPGs in my time, but the particular style of bioware games just rubs me wrong.

So no, I'm not getting DA2 unless I can somehow find a way to enjoy the bioware games that I have and thus be wanting more of the same.

haven't finished the 1st one yet and not sure I will.

I got to the dwarf city and got extremely bored with the quests there.

I enjoyed the first one a lot...but when I read up on the second it disappointed me (no race choices boo) and I stop playing the first,,,thought in the video show the art still looks closer to DOA than I thought it would....I wait for reviews before I decide on DA2....

A merry-go-round of games with very good design (well, KOTOR 2 was half finished so...), and great story telling? I'll continue my ride.

Yeah- I have very fond memories of all those games listed.

I'll be buying it- need to decide if pre-order is worth it for the special items (prob not) or if I should wait for reviews...this game, tiger woods 12 and MLB the show all coming out together is really going to drain the $$....

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I just started playing DA a month or so again and haven't finished it, but am thoroughly loving it. DA2 doesn't quite look like DA to me, it almost looks like it's set a lot further in time, everything seems brighter and more modern. Not sure if I like that disconnect.

The first one bored the crap out of me, idk, I'll have to research what's changed. Probably not, but I did think that ME2 was pretty good.

Eventually, but I'm not in any real hurry. I liked the first one, but less than Mass Effect 1-2.

I have a bunch of other unplayed games waiting for me, and I could always replay something else like one of the Neverwinter Nights campaigns while I'm waiting for the $25 version on Steam that includes the 20 bits of $10 DLC.

Hell ya. I love ME2, and that's the direction they've taken DA2 (i loved DA1 as well). Bioware is one of the few companies i buy the games on release day and not wait for a sale.

Day 1 purchase, super excited but at the same time slightly concerned about the lack of any race choices for the main character. This'll surely result in a stronger story for the first playthrough but after that it's more about variety and that's where I wonder how this game will possibly hook me the way DA:O did (three complete playthroughs).
