Dragon Age 2 has gone gold . . . Will you be buying it?

I'll buy it in a few months when it gets cheaper and one or two DLCs for it will be available, not to mention that I'm currently saving to upgrade my current computer, so yes I'll buy it but probably not before this summer I'd guess.

I pre-ordered it a couple of months ago. I can't say I'm as excited as I was for DA as I don't agree with some of their design decisions, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

This time I will wait till christmas sale; mostly because of the crappy dlc model which is quite annoying. Drop the DLC model and I'd buy it in a month or so when it drops a little.

No. Few reasons
1. It looks like a water down version of DAO from what I've seen so far.
2. $60 MSRP, granted can get it for cheaper from some places still BS.
3. More then likely it is going to have a bunch of DLC like DAO
4. Waiting for GOTY version and Steam sale and pick it up cheap in the future.

Glad I'm not the only one who hates DLC in RPGs. Makes me wait a year before I can play it so I have all the content.

Got 1/4 way through the first one after playing all the race intros, but it never really grew on me. It followed what I now call the BioWare Story Framework that's been used in their games since KOTR. The game wasn't unique enough to have me play through yet another identical overarching plotline, so I got bored and wandered elsewhere.

And if the 2nd doesn't follow that predictable format, the further simplification of the game from an already simple game probably will keep me from buying it unless it goes for a $19.99 Gold Edition that goes on a Steam sale. I really don't feel like paying $60 plus the DLC so I can finish the side story arc that I had been teased on in the core game.

i see some people just like a glass of Whine with their breakfast 😉
the DLCs are not important in the game. its still fun and very much a complete game without them. the only DLC i got was the Stone Prisoner because Shale just Rocks. literally.
instead of DLCs i focused on the expansion which was awesome as well. i think that DAO+Awakening comes very close in the amount of content and overall experience to BG2.

*finds cover before the stoning begins*

I have it pre-ordered ,however having so much fun at the moment with Two Worlds 2,very good IMHO.

No, I will NOT be buying Dragon Age 2. It's coming way too early and way too fast. I didn't even get a chance to beat the original, not to mention it's multitude of expansions and addons. I guess that is fine, since by the time I finish the original, if ever... The sequel will be like $10-15

I'm not as excited about it as I once was. I'm not sure I like the direction they took with it, although I think it's supposed to be more sandbox than DA:O which is good. But I'm still hesitant.

Will definitely buy it and play it, though. Don't know if I'll play it through 4 times like I did DA:O, though.

If you cannot get beyond #2 then PC gaming will never get taken seriously. Honestly $60 is a fair price for a AAA title. We have been paying less for a long time and I believe that the price for console games are going to go up a step soon as well. Production costs are high and PC gaming turns a very thin profit margin.

All I am saying is that people cannot complain about the lack of attention to PC gaming and then also go and buy every game they get for five bucks on a steam sale.

Am I saying you are wrong to do so? No I am not it is your choice. I am doing the same thing with FO NV - waiting for GOTY steam sale. However the reason I do not purchase it now is in no way influenced by the 60$ price tag. More of the fact that I want the complete game including DLC, and I have not beaten FO3 yet.

I've had it preordered since the day Amazon put it up. Bioware hasn't let me down yet... I can't see throwing that away by making assumptions about the direction in which they're headed.

I have a problem with it cause it is the same price as a console game, at least on the console side of things that extra $10 or so is for licensing to sell it on the system. The PC has no such thing to worry about. Each PC version of a multiplatform game that sells for the same price as the console version is making more money per copy for the publisher then either console copy sold is.

THQ last year announced that game prices should be going down for the PC and they were going to be releasing their PC titles for $40 or lower from now on. They have released a few smaller titles for under that price point thus far, we will see if they hold their word when Space Marine comes out during the summer cause that will be a big title for them.

With that being said, I rarely ever buy a game when it first comes out anymore. Most aren't worth their launch MSRP or even half off of that usually nowadays. There are 3 games I am buying at launch this year and that is it. Rift, and Warhammer 40K Space Marine and Dawn of War 2 Retribution. I'm a huge WH40K fan so will pick those up regardless and I like to get in on MMO's when they first launch if they show enough polish/promise in the beta which Rift has.

Keep in mind, we've also been getting less and less with new titles now too. I'm not opposed to a 60 dollar price tag for a AAA title. I'm opposed to paying 60 dollars for a title that finish in a single weekend and never play again.

Except now it's $60 + $50-100 for the DLC.

Or wait and pay $25-50 for the GOTY version. For some games like Fallout NV and Mass Effect 2 I wasn't willing to wait, but Dragon Age is on my B list of games.

And that game you just paid $60 for you can't even play until you download 2gigs worth of patches. then prove you do really own the game.

I don't mind paying money for a game. i get tired of paying money for a game that is not finished

DA:O has given me well over a hundred hours of fun gameplay.

Of course, I don't play FPS games, which is what you may been referring to. I would agree that FPS games have been getting smaller and shorter as time goes by. I remember the first Doom game took a long time to beat. I've heard that some of the new FPS games can be beaten in less than 10 hours.

And the same old multiplayer gankfest over and over again has never been appealing to me.

I paid £20 about ($32) for Two Worlds 2,I have played so far about 30 hours(according to save files) and still only on Chapter 2 with lots to do,I will say you get more then your money's worth with Two Worlds 2.

Hopefully I get it finished by the time DA2 comes out, if not then I will finish Two Worlds before I play DA2.

As to DLC you get in games like DA etc....I never bother paying for that.
