DPAD: more crookedness from US-D

look here

oh, and this one has 21,997,460.4 Mpts

All I can say is I might bail on this project unless Stephen reconsiders a policy regarding renaming and the transferring of Mpts. It's getting old... This is particularly lame when these aren't even active participants, and just moving Mpts for the sake of holding on to a lead.

screw them, just stay the course and we will take over THE RIGHT WAY! let them do that bs if they want, its really a non-factor. they are just doing whatever they can to keep their lead. dont worry their time is coming very VERY soon!

I don't even give a rat's ass about those **** anymore. If that's the way they wanna play ... so be it. They ain't they only ones who have a few aces in reserve! (Why the hell isn't there any emoticon with a fist and an erected middle finger??)

.......

That will take the lead away from SG...And boost US-D's lead even higher.

These stupid tactics really suck. I can't believe how desperate US-D is for a lead.

All the more reason to give them a bigger thrashing!

Folks,

I have no idea why this latest person from [SG] wants to join our team...in fact I learned of it from this
thread. As a policy we don't actively recruit from other teams. However, anyone is welcome to join and participate,
as long as they follow the rules. We are happy to accept both big crunchers and small ones.

As you may have seen if you read our forum, we run DPAD and a number of others programs for fun. Despite what
you may have been lead to believe, we certainly are not desperate to stay ahead. The fact we have been ahead this long is amazing to me. Another misconception is that we have a data center...ha ! What we have are a few folks
with a number of well tuned machines that crank it up on programs that we think are worthwhile. We believe Stephen's
effort to be worthwhile.

Well, enough for the explanations and back to crunching. As far as I'm concerned you guys have been doing a great job cranking it up and your effort has my respect and the respect of many on our team.

Regards,

Fritz

Christian,

It was a bit disturbing to me when Kokomo and Cowboy left US-D the first time to come to TA. I consider both
of them to be my friends and colleagues. They will remain so no matter what team they are on. But I know from
experience that people will have their differences of opinion, and sometimes they act on them "with their feet".
That's everyone's right.

I have come to the conclusion myself that points earned on a team should stay with a team when a person moves.
Some programs do this already....most do not. But we are all affected by the same rules. With that in mind, perhaps
we should beat the swords into plowshares and move forward.

Regards,

Fritz

points earned on a team should stay with a team when a person moves
If that were made retroactive - that'd be just dandy... and undo several wrongs.

Look in the upper left hand corner... that's not exactly some guy's garage - but ok... I've been running this project long enough with 9 "well-tuned machines" to know that a guy that out-produces me 10-fold on a daily basis isn't running just a "few" machines -- but that's not at issue. Notwithstanding the fact that the picture is titled "datacenter1" - and shows roughly 492 machines... it might be a stretch to figure where someone could conclude that there was a datacenter involved. Methinks they doth protest too much.

People can run all the machines they can get their hands on - and that's plenty fair, and I have no heartburn over that. 300 people with one machine is the same as one person with 300.

Since the majority of the the ACTIVE top membership of this project appears to feel that the points earned with a team should stay where they were earned - Stephen could solve a great big bruhaha by making it so - and by making it (as I said) retroactive. That would make the playing field level - and the swords could indeed be transformed into plowshares.

And with that - we move on.

edit:
Poll on Stephen's Forum

If the majority want it left alone - that's good enough for me. If a substantial number want it changed - it would seem an appropriate venue to express that desire.

Really been getting frustrated with this project on a whole... the Mpts transfers (thievery I tell you) and the technical problems...

I may be shifting my DC focus elsewhere very soon

Be of "good chill" Z. You're about to move into the #1 spot on the TeAm. We'll get this ironed out -- and all will be well.

No project is without some technical challenges. This one is no exeption. To bail on the cusp of glory is... well... not a super idea? ;)

Remember. There is a nice little surprise in the making. :)

Hey guys, Dan is right! We need to stay the course. We're headed for #1, and that's where we'll be. I also suffer from the "no stats = feeling crappy syndrome", so I understand everybody's frustration! But lets go with this, we've allready managed making this a incredible and unstoppable TeAm. Lets get back to some serious crunching, and show all the others where we're coming from! TeAm TA DPAD Rocks! :D

I'm pissed off too due to all the probs in DPAD but I'm still staying with [TA]. The very first point of time for me to leave will be when we hit #1 with about 50.000.000 points lead ... then I might consider changeing to another DC ;)
