Downloading Songs over the Internet is TOO easy

I'd Really wish downloading music from Pay sites were as easy as torrents.

Seriously, I WANT to pay the artists/publishers but, they make it so dame inconvenient, not to mention slow.

Just got Fios and dang, got entire discographies (6 infact) within 30mins all 320kbps rips.

I'd go to the store, but thats a 10min drive, search through 100000 cds, get pissed at incompetent help, end up buying other random stuff, like new headphones "no reason", go back to car,, sees burgerking "onion RINGS".

add another 10mins we're up to bout an hour, and i return home with 3-4 hundred LESS songs, GOT fat eating the OR, and ends up Ripping the CDs to mp3s anyway, which takes even longer..

I still feel guilty though.
 
I find it easier to hit 'checkout' from amazon/half.com compared to installing a torrent app, setting up the router properly, etc... Now I'm not claiming to buy 100% of my music this way, but come on it's not that hard to get stuff legally.

Seriously. I don't often go out and buy retail. I just decide I want it, find it cheap online, and wait for it to come to my door.

But then you don't have instant gratification. I've been listening to this Jorn and Lande song (Wish For A Miracle) over YouTube because I don't want to download it, so I have to wait a while for the CD to arrive.
 
Ummm how is iTunes harder than torrent? just man up and pay for you music and quit being a thief.
 
If you really wanted to support the artist you could download the music to get the instant listen and buy the CD as well (seriously, it's not time-consuming at all to buy albums online, I think you can set up Amazon for single-click checkout). Sounds to me like you're just a cheapskate. 😛

If you don't care about the artist and want to stick it to the man then buy previously owned media. Of course this does not apply to the latest swill du jour but then if that's yer thing then carry on. CD quality took a turn for the worse this decade anyway so it is difficult to justify buying originals and ripping 'em yourself versus making avail of intartube offerings.

To be honest I do this a lot. I'll use riaaradar.com to check and see if an artist is on an RIAA affiliated label, and if they are I'll buy used because I hate the idea of supporting one of the big four or anyone associated with them. The only stuff I try to buy new are albums from non-RIAA affiliated labels or unsigned artists.

Just kind of sucks because some of my favorite artists (Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree, for example) are on RIAA affiliated labels and therefore have never seen a penny from me. 😛 I should probably pick up some merch from their site sometime, I've read labels don't get a cut of these sales (or if they do it isn't nearly as big as for CDs). Unfortunately I'm not a big concert person so I can't support artists in this way.
