“We’re learning that maybe China has a higher pain threshold than we thought here,” said Stephen Moore, who was an economic adviser to Trump during the 2016 election and remains close to the White House. “They don’t seem to care that this is having extreme negative effects on their economy. It’s kind of a mutually assured destruction game right now.”

No shit, Steve. Lots of rational informed people told you this was likely the case but you and people like Navarro said nope reinforcing Trump's moronic ideas.

Farmers, don't believe your lying bank accounts.
So Trump is vowing to tax the rest of us in order to shield his chosen people from the consequences of his own stupidity? Time for urban dwellers to start voting their self interests and pull the farmers off the public tit for a year or two. Maybe, just maybe, farmers will remember that farm subsidies are one piece of a broader bargain between the cities and the farmers.

Interesting that Republicans don't seem to have a problem with redistribution of wealth all of a sudden, haha. I wonder what's different?

I doubt they'd see it that way and just yell at us about how cities would starve without them because we're not supporting their billions in grain and meat exports.

Yea, this is what most Americans don't understand. The Chinese will wait this out. They can take the pain. Americans? Not so much. We've gone soft. They'll start crying when they can't buy their 50" 4K TV for $800. It's sad, but true. And the Chinese know this.

You can get a 55" 4K for mid $300s. Or you could a few weeks ago.

Don't by into the us vs them bullshit. We're all in this together.

Besides the obvious racist tribalism that the GOP have been successfully exploiting since like forever, their leadership has also convinced many of their working class tribal members that the sacrifices they're making in the way of refusing better pay and benefits, refusing affordable health care, refusing expanded educational opportunities, refusing a living wage etc. etc. in order for the wealthy to benefit from their own social welfare programs (tax cuts, corporate subsidies, etc.) is good for them and good for Making America Great Again (for the wealthy). And besides, it's much more important for them to resist improved gun registration laws and keeping women from having control over their own bodies and abolishing gay marriage. You know, really really important stuff like that. lol

I can't blame the very wealthy for being so driven by insatiable greed beyond the pale because they're just that way and they're being bountifully rewarded for that greed.

Rather, it's much more the working class Repubs that are enabling the very wealthy to get away with robbing the poor to give their own relatively few wealthy more and more wealth and influence over the vast majority that the working class represents.

fuck them. Iowa can go gop and shit themselves into oblivion.

I say... it is the perfect opportunity to scoop up more voters.

You say fuck them.
Right, because the last thing we need are fewer Republicans and more Democrats. Your venom is beyond reason.

Because bothsides. Duh.

How is that both sides? It’s one side being hypocritical. Democrats are fine with redistributing wealth as a positive good!

Oddly enough though when Democrats want to redistribute wealth to poor people republicans say that’s bad. When Republicans want to redistribute wealth to farmers it’s good. Why one and not the other?

I will clear it up. How is money created and what is it backed by? Nothing. It seems countries agree to continue playing the money game simply for the sake of sport.

This is incorrect. Fiat money has inherent value in that it can be used to satisfy tax obligations. If you think that isn’t valuable try not paying your taxes.

We better figure out its all of us, as the whole planet, fast. The only "them" is those who divides us, nationally and internationally, for personal profit. We all know who those players are. There is a reason the west is getting a shitton of immigrants. They want what we have, democracy and freedom for the individuals works... its a superior model. Putin would never survive a fair election, so he powergrabs. The R would never survive a fair election so they powergrab. The cult of Fox Breitbart and Sinclair... American Oligarks that can never have enough, so fuck the people over, have some mass shootings and a war..... so I can profit.
FUCK EM.

Uh huh. Thats all either side plays on. Us and them.

I'm not. In terms of domestic consumption, American farmers have had the ability to farm themselves out of sustainable profit for nearly 100 years. The New Deal dealt with that thru quotas, subsidies & conservation measures like the soil bank. Modern farmers deal with it thru farming every acre they can & exports. There was a time when their competition was weak but that's no longer true. Chinese buyers switched seamlessly to slightly higher priced commodities from other sources & sailed on by. Prices for American soybeans fell so far that it became profitable for Argentine processors to import American soybeans while Argentine farmers sold to China at a higher price.

It's what happens when too many people are induced to think with the head of their dick instead of the head on their shoulders. That's what this whole stupid right wing culture war is all about. They're the only ones actually waging it.
