Dota 2

I just recently started playing it. I haven't played DOTA in like 5-6 years. I use to be good at it (Bloodseeker all the way then!) but I am horrible now and need to relearn everything. Been playing as Lina as she was always pretty friendly I remember 😀
 
The playerbase has gotten quite large, there are over 200k people playing atm.

I've been playing it a lot with a buddy of mine. Pretty fun, lots of people are pretty clueless how to play though.
 
Wouldn't mind an invite, never played dota, and its been years since I played LoL. But been looking for a new game to get into

You can add me. I played a lot of HoN but recently gave up because solo queue is terrible. =( All my friends moved on to Dota 2 and I've played a few games. Sadly, solo queue in this game is almost as bad as HoN. steam id: an_angry_ewok
 
I've been playing for quite some time. The player base has really taken off the past several months.

It's like HoN with inferior graphics, but better balance and run by a reputable company.
 
I wouldn't mind an invite. I stopped playing HoN quite a while ago... It was much better than Dota IMO. (Better graphics, a lot of characters, etc) It was missing some good characters though... 🙁 I'm not a fan of LoL at all and never have been. It's a terrible game (graphics, always imbalanced characters, shitty system for getting characters, and shitty players).

Does DOTA 2 have an APEM mode? I can't stand regular dota. It's so fucking slow. It's not that I'm a noob because I play EM. It's because I hate how slow regular is. Games almost always take an hour or more and that's far too long for me.

No APEM atm, though I belive the developers have said they intend to port all modes from Dota 1 into Dota 2, so it should come along some time.

Anyone know how they decided to distribute invites? I'm fairly sure I never paid for DotA 2. I did play the beta, but that was a long time ago and I only played 5 games or so...

The game is free, so if you just happened to try it out for kicks they just send invites to those emails.

Did not like the game myself, seemed boring.
 
It was gifted to me on STEAM but I havent tried it yet. It looks like an RTS game but it plays like an RPG sort of? Weird. Looks fun though.

It is a competitive team strategy RPG or MOBA as LoL likes to classify itself as. It is very similar playing Warcraft 3 but only controlling a single hero unit, which is what Dota was based on. With that said, the game isn't very new player friendly and there is a steep learning curve. The community is also awful and will rage if you die even once.
