Is this a joke? Out of all the great games that deserve to be remastered the chose freakin Doom 3? Ugh.

Wow, Doom 3 was 8 years ago? Time flies.

No kidding and combine that with the fact that the playability was already 10 years old and it was a horrible game. I love FPS games but it got so old to walk and have something jump out at you from behind every ten feet. That was the same year Farcry came out and that was a new game worth remaking.

But i am still playing CoD MF2 and am enjoying the low prices on games > 6 months old.

I would shake a baby to get an updated Far Cry. Not that shit in Africa they tried to pawn off on us.

doom, doom2 - huge levels, changing geometry, mobs everywhere, uber guns, and you.

doom3 - one corridor, half a dozen spawn points, and a really big spawn script. and blinking lights.

yeah sure i want doom3.

I thought it was well know that Doom3 was just a show piece for id's tech. It should be no surprise that they are going to revamp it show show their new tech.

*shrug* I'd play it. Wasn't a fan of RAGE whatsoever, but Doom 3 was a good time, even though it had some issues (particularly with repetitive samey environments). It was legitimately creepy and atmospheric though, pretty, and had some nice gunplay.

Heck, if they do a pre-order deal on Steam where current Doom 3 owners get a discount on the remastered version, I *might* even buy it on release.

Doom 3 was a tech demo more than anything else, seems like thats how all ID's in house games are. Tech demonstrations for their latest engine design.

Flash Lights are back!!!

Actually, they did away with it...

The gameplay will also be tweaked through a revamped save point system, fine-tuned controls on the consoles, and—possibly most importantly—the ability to use an armor-mounted flashlight while firing your weapon, helping to manage the game's famously dark corridors. In an interview with Polygon, Id Creative Director Tim Willits says the game will also include more ammo than the original, in response to a common complaint from fans.

So... will they charge $60 for a remastered eight years-old game?
