Doom 3 Benchmark

Hey guys, just ran the timedemo1 benchmark in Doom3. I have a AMD 64 4000+ with 1GB ram and 2 7800GTX's in SLI and I got 41.2 FPS at 1600x1200 and 4X AA. Is this low for this setup?

Forgot to mention this is on a 2405FPW, is the monitor limiting by any chance?

why did you run it at that resolution? yes that is very low for an sli 7800gtx setup. a single 7800gtx can do that.

That is low, I get higher than that with two 7800GT's in SLI and a slower CPU. Are you sure both all of the SLI rendering options are set properly in the nvidia panel? After I "enabled" SLI on mine, I still had to change the game profiles (either the defauly or individually) to actually use both cards to render.

under the advanced settings in the doom3.exe profile, it says Predefined(Read Only) under SLI Rendering Mode. I knew this was a low score for this setup, i have no idea why

Something is definately not right considering according to Anand a single 7800GTX scores 51fps at that res.

You sure you have everything set correctly in the Nvidia control panel?

FEAR runs good at 1920x1200, so that isnt a problem, and I get good scores on 3DMARK05, though I cant remember the specific numbers, they were right at where they should have been

Something is wierd though, when I tell Doom to scan for the optimum settings, it puts the resolution at 640x480....that doesnt sound right

i just installed the new drivers off the nvidia site, i think they are 81.98

Now I am getting 74.5, a big jump from the 40FPS.

Is this around what I should be getting?

That's about what I got last time I ran 3dMark05, but I got 86fps at that setting for Doom3 last time I ran it.

Do you have V-synch on? That really kills Doom3 performance.

Do you have multi-gpu rendering enabled in the control panel? Or do you have Transparency Super Sampling on?

if you are running 4aa 16af then 74 fps is actually very good. all the benchmarks i have seen are between 70 and 80 fps for your setup. there is nothing wrong if you are getting 74 fps. i still want to know why you are using 1600x1200 instead of your native resolution.

The native res is 1920x1200, but the settings dont go up that high, only to 1600x1200. I tried editing the files that the post over at the widescreengaming said to to get 1920x1200, but it didnt work.

I do have SLI enabled, and as for Transparency Super Sampling...where do I find that, I see Transparency Antialiasing and it is off in the nvidia control panel.

I also made sure that vsync was disabled, I was getting a big hit before when I forgot to turn that off.

dayum, thats low. Transparency Antialiasing is the same as TSS AFAIK. I am completely stumped as to why your benchies are so low.

did you even read the thread. its perfectly normal now that he is at over 70 fps.

well as far as fps you are now getting exactly what you are supposed to be getting so dont worry anymore. maybe someone else can help you with TSS question since i dont have a 7800gtx myself.
