I'm sure everyone wishes the beta was focused on the campaign so that no one would have to actually pay for the game... C'mon guy... That isn't happening.

There have been plenty of demo's or beta's that were the actual campaign that either stopped after a certain point.

It's available for preloading. Downloading it now via a key bought off cdkeys for a substantial discount the other day.

53GB... Ridiculous...

My CE preorder isn't shipping till tomorrow, and I won't get it till sometime next week, but I was charged on Saturday. THANKS GAMESTOP. Should've done in-store pickup - lesson learned.

I'm out of this thread, no spoilers, PEACE!

53GB for 15hrs? Devs must take great joy in bloating up a corridor shooter.

That is quite a lot for a game by which most rumors out there, is a fairly short one. I'm assuming it has 4k assets and that's the reason for the huge download.

I'll start my pre-load right before going to bed.

I can't wait to play it! And, to think that DOOM 3 came out 12 years ago (and I still remember the very day I bought it, launch day too), incredible. I reinstalled DOOM 3 last month and gave it another go (just a few hours in), it was 'okay'. Then I watched some of the new one's campaign footage... then I played some Brutal DOOM. All I can say for sure is I can't wait! The new one (campaign-wise) definitely feels right to me just by the look of it (and I'm glad we can simply disable the kill animations if we want to).

Can't wait, will be picking this up on my way home tomorrow!

Concerned because I have a 4k monitor and only a GTX 970... not sure if I will have to drop the resolution or I can turn off enough of the eye candy to get it playable.

I will buy it when others have gone first. If some issues arise, i can wait for those issues to be resolved.

And i first will have to wait for my new discrete videocard.

It's preloaded... sitting on the spinner... please have a good single player campaign please have a good single player campaign please have a good single player campaign please have a good single player campaign

haha, very true. What I noticed from game play videos it looks very similar to Doom 3, not saying this is bad though.

I hope it will be a follow up of the hell story from doom 3 but still with a new plot/ story line and not a reboot of doom 3. That would be seriously sad.

Is this game available on steam tomorrow? On Friday? God damn it. My wife scheduled a dinner at the house. I'm stuffing her in the closet and the kids can play in the street. Its Doom time bithcdes.

I haven't been this excited for a game in a really long time. I hope it does well financially, but not holding my breath with the type of market they face now compared to the 90's. COD players can't handle the speed and lack of auto-regen. I hope there are enough of us to show id and the world that we still need games with classic FPS gameplay like this.

Uncompressed 1080p 60 FPS maxed settings with M&K, the way Doom is supposed to be experienced 😎

So different, and so much better than the console gameplay with controller D:

They really did some serious upgrades to ID tech engine with this release though. The amount of dynamic lighting and screen space reflections is very impressive! Seems like all light sources affect the environment in some manner, including explosions and weapon firing.

That's what I'm talking about.

I seriously doubt its as good as Serious Sam.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Back on topic. I'm certainly interested in the game although I was really put off from the E3 reveal. If those mele/takedown moves really do lock you into that animation then I won't be buying it as I feel it could ruin the pacing of the combat. Should that not be the case then I will be picking the game up.

I recently read Doom's single player is largely designed around corridors that connect larger arena areas that get locked down upon entering, and only unlock after you defeat predetermined waves of enemies. To be honest, that may be the final nail in the coffin for me, as I find that model of gameplay gets old, fast. Maybe I'll pick it up on an extreme discount in the future if the reviews aren't too bad, but it seems like every time I read something I like about Doom, I read something else I really dislike.
